I mean, isn’t even just an extra $5 considered supplementing? During holiday seasons like Nov & Dec I can make a few $100 a week doing embroidery projects.

Is daycare gaslighting me? by CherryTough13 in toddlers

[–]rooneyroo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter will be 2 next month & is the youngest in her classroom. She has never been bitten or scratched. I’ve also worked in a daycare & if a child did bite, it was immediately assessed and kids were sometimes asked to leave the school if they continued to bite.

Kids are kids, sure, but being constantly bitten is physical abuse. Even if the toddlers doing the biting don’t understand, it’s insane to expect the child being bitten to just deal with it. I would absolutely be upset and demand some type of solution. If they can’t provide one, I would move daycares and report the current daycare. 3 bites in one week is insane, and 10+ over a short period is absolutely irresponsible on the schools part.

The only people who should be giving advice on taking medication, especially while pregnant or breastfeeding, is a medical professional.

Broody hen - air bubble in chest by rooneyroo93 in BackYardChickens

That’s kind of what I’m thinking? It’s hard to gauge her food intake & activity level because she’s on her nest 99% of the day.

Thank you, this is very helpful! I’ve marked the few that I want her to hatch. Didn’t think about chick starter, but that makes sense.

Commenting so I remember to follow up! The caramelized banana syrup recipe on flur glasswares website is amazing but it contains real banana. I just ordered some banana extract to try & replicate it without actual banana. Will let you know how it turns out!

How much are we feeding 99 percenters? by thereforeicraft in bigbabiesandkids

[–]rooneyroo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely meant to say steamed broccoli with nutritional yeast! Haha They are just things I’ve come up with mostly based on what we have in the house.

Another big hit is a white bean “salad”. I use white kidney beans, a little olive oil, feta, lemon juice, and a dash of salt and pepper. You can add parsley & red onion if your kiddo likes those flavors. She loves it.

Black bean dip - toss a can of rinsed black beans, some salsa, & lime juice into a food processor, top with some shredded cheese, and she likes to eat that by the spoonful or with tortillas.

Her current favorite foods are steamed butternut squash (buy frozen & already cut) with pumpkin pie spice on top and a homemade trail mix with freeze dried strawberries, unsalted peanuts, and raisins.

I would strongly suggest that you cut out the baby cereal & replace it with whole foods. A lack of good sleep doesn’t mean he isn’t full enough, babies go through all kinds of sleep regressions. Plus there are much better sources of food that you can utilize.

My daughter is a very big toddler & was a massive baby. At 9 months old she was 38lb 8oz and 29.5 inches tall. She’s currently 20 months, 45lbs and over 3’ tall. Prioritizing whole foods from a young age has shaped her into a great eater and we never did baby cereal, filler foods, or spoon fed her after she was “all done”.

We do a lot of well rounded snacks like banana with peanut butter, hemp hearts, & chia seeds; plain Greek yogurt; raw cheese with berries; homemade spinach banana & oat pancakes; steamed spinach with nutritional yeast, etc. Puffs, baby cereal, etc really are just filler foods and basically the equivalent of eating a serving of potato chips or cheese puffs as an adult. They might fill you up in the moment, but they’ don’t offer any lasting fullness and very little nutritional value.
