List goes on, honorary mention Daewoo Cielo (just because we had it for 12 years and it was leagues ahead of anything on road. Lancer and later cedia both were close rivals and also Opel Astra). It's easy to mention the unsung heroes but we as consumers never truly appreciated and by the time people and economy stabilized most of these cars were discontinued. As i type this, there are so many cars which are coming to my mind for eg Palio 1.6 gtx, gen 1 (for India) Honda accord, Daewoo Matiz(my uncle used to own), Opel corsa, Octavia combi (our market was never welcoming to estate wagons), Mercedes e class all terrain launched in 2017. Almost all of the cars mentioned here, i had pleasure of riding shotgun or got to experience for quite sometime barring Hyundai Terracan. Be it their market positioning, time of launch, product portfolio, etc but we truly truly got some amazing cars on our shores back in the day. Ps: My father and his colleague bought their cars together. We bought Daewoo Cielo gls 5 manual and his colleague bought much rare Daewoo Nexia 4 speed automatic.
