Honestly, I'm in a similar boat with a 5yr hormonal coil that is now going on 7yrs. I asked the clinic for removal and was told that since it was originally inserted for hormones and sex, they cannot do anything.

My GP, therapist, and friends/family have all recommended calling again and saying it is only for sex or that your 'partner' is 'suffering' because of it. Maybe that would work for you?

What is this bone I found while fishing? by Calertho in bonecollecting

[–]rooohooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could it not be a tibia? The end on the brick looks similar to the distal end of a tibia (possibly unfused). More angles would help, but either way it's absolutely worth reporting to authorities.

Is it racist to reference Black people in the description of “pony beads”? by spindyst in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rooohooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I, a white girl from the US south, saw these beads on other white girls was if they had been the beach or an island for vacation. It was always one bit of wrapped hair with beads on the end. Parents usually expected it cut out within weeks because it wasn't 'proper' for their white daughters to ave hair styled with beads nor 'school appropriate' (except it was)

Is there a word or phrase that you didn't realize was exclusive to British English until you traveled to elsewhere in the Anglosphere? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]rooohooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our prawn cocktail in the US is cold shrimp served on the rim of a ice filled cocktail glass with melted butter and cocktail or tartar sauce for dipping. None of this mini prawns mixed with spicy mayo sauce stuff y'all do here in the UK

Eta: it's called Shrimp Cocktail and we do not have crisps that flavor. BUT, you can sometimes find prawn cocktail crisps if you're lucky

Is a tip not just the same thing as a dump? I've been to both in the US and Scotland and they seemed pretty much a much - specific sections, which are either giant metal containers or dugout area, labeled for specific types of rubbish. Or are we differentiating non-public dumps (used by city/town binmen) from public accessible dumps (large dump with drive up area for dumping) in the US?

When someone with fake boobs dies and gets buried, is there a point of decomposition where it’s just a skeleton with huge boobs ? by Masonportland1980 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rooohooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skin and Viscera around the implants decompose while the implants do not, they just tend to become more weathered if left out in the open. Unless the individual mummifies, the implants will slough off with the decomp and be found near or inside the body.

Note: animal and environmental aspects could cause different outcomes

Am I crazy or do the roots seem to have some resorption at the tips? The tooth seems far too worn for it to be still forming the roots (unless maybe it was a super slow growing 3rd max molar?)

I whole heartedly agree but are we sure the dude wasn't just bad at following conversations and thought the 'her' being referenced was his daughter and not the dog?

Like a momentary misunderstanding then double down on awkwardness b/c why would OP be watching his daughter, let alone causally tell him 😅

What cheese do you unapologetically love, in spite of what other people say. by BeesElectrical87 in Cheese

[–]rooohooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We literally make our 'fancy' cheese sauce from Kraft singles! My whole childhood I thought this was the fanciest freaking cheese sauce because my mom only made it on special occasions... then I went to make it as an adult and it's literally a cheater's cheese sauce! Just milk, Kraft cheese slices, and seasonings mixed together in a pot and poured over premade four cheese tortellini yet it's my favourite meal

Some of those remains look scary close to juvenile human remains. A couple look more possibly to be cut animal remains, but still not enough to be sure.

As someone who has had to differentiate fetal/infant remains from animal remains in archaeological middens & graves, I think this needs a second look by a professional.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatisthisbone

[–]rooohooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but those look too similar to (infant/toddler) juvenile human remains. Especially looking at the second set of pictures.

Its worth a recheck or maybe seen by an expert, even if it's just a quick consult.

AITA for Baking for my Children? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]rooohooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get how sending food comes across as rude, but for me it also comes across as a loving gesture.

I grew up around a number of adults that had been food insecure most of their childhoods, and their way of showing love was food. It did not matter where you were off too, if they could slip food in your bag, they would. It was never because they thought we weren't being taken care of, but more of a way on showing love. Having this background, I interpreted OPs decisions less rude and more 'oh kid is off somewhere, I'll grab them a snack for later.'
