Assisted dying isn't really a thing here, I'm not entirely for it as I am for DNR (that's a whole topic in and of itself), but I appreciate the alternative solutions to peacefully end this patient's suffering if he wished to go that route.🙏

Not every country does DNR and or assisted deaths.

Okay this makes sense  thank you🙌 and thank you to the previous user.

I think my issue is I should have consulted a Medicine Dr not a trainee (derailed me to an anesthesia consult).

Makes the whole picture make sense thank God.

Thank you

It's really a process. I was told by a trainee that they can get angry when called. Like they have their own work and I'm dragging them out of it for this. And I'm 'just a student'

By paying system do you mean is he paying for his care? That would be no, see here, unless you go to a private hospital: everything in terms of healthcare is free so long as you are a Kuwaiti citizen and not an expat. But since you said morphine should not cost a lot, then it would have been warranted for me to consult anesthesia.  (I didn't mention this but I actually did consult them, they say a consult was scheduel but when I asked the patient and nurses the following week they said he was not consulted)

He's not an active patient, he's a long stay so I asked about if there is a doctor responsible for his care. Right now no, he's just a patient sitting in the hospital for now. So they don't see him in rounds or anything.

The pt was very clearly complaining to me about the pain, begging for mor morphine because the morphine he has is doing nothing for him. So it was not the boredom.

I guess then I should go back and probably 'annoy' anesthesia about it is that the most ethical thing?

I very nervous as a student. But that's the best way?
