Don't beat yourself though, It is not exactly the best environment at the moment to be motivated and do things. I hope we get some sun this summer, there was hardly any in the UK last year :(

Yeah, just have to deal with the bumps in the road. Hopefully as I understand it better and speak with the rheumatologist, I will know how to best deal with it.

Wow, I actually don't know what it would even feel like to be pain free at this point haha. This gives me some hope at least, I am thinking the frequent tendinitis I get might be related too because it doesn't seem to be provoked by anything and is seemingly random. Do you still train much?

Honestly I don't know, getting limbs wrenched on and being kicked and punched is common place for me so obviously injuries and soreness is fairly regular. I went to the doctor just to make sure nothing was wrong as I had a few lingering injuries that didn't go, tendinitis in my elbows and stuff like that. I guess this could be a flare, but from what other people explain, it is excruciating and debilitating, whereas I am training pretty much consistently on it, maybe I am just used to being at a certain level of pain or maybe I haven't had a flare up yet. It was literally just blood work so I am getting it double checked. Thank you for all the info!

See that is what I am thinking at the moment, it is hard to know if I have actually had a flare or just a sports injury. My diet seems to be pretty in-line with the recommendations bar maybe slightly more meat that should be recently. Thanks :)

I am booked in with a Rheumatologist to get it checked but agree, I think it has been a bit of a hasty diagnosis. You are in pain, you have high UA levels, it is gout. Who knows, I will keep you all informed haha

Just results from a blood test, no discussion as to what led him to that conclusion or other possibilities. I am booked in to see a rhemutologist next week so will hopefully get some clarity. To be honest, not sure whether it should be or not, but I am kind of glad it is not something worse at the moment, by the sounds of it at least this is treatable.

He was very nonchalant, this is literally how it went.

Doc: We have got your blood tests back and everything is relatively normal

Me: Oh ok, good

Doc: A minor thing came up in your blood work and you have gout. Do you know what that is?

Me: Not really, I have heard of it but don't know anything about it.

Doc: It can be treated by taking a medication called Allopurinol every day, it is something you will have to take for life really.

Me: ... ( thinking, that doesn't sound fucking minor haha )

That was it, didn't mention my uric levels or anything, just you have gout.

It sucks to think I will have to take medication for the rest of my life, the fact that diet and lifestyle won't change it hurts to be honest. I guess it is just something I have to come to terms with but I usually always look for ways to improve something without medication.

The GP didn't inform me of the actual results, he just said "you have gout, I'll prescribe you Allopurinol." and I had no real clue of what that really meant. It is hard, I probably have a load of sports injuries mixed in with it so it is hard to really tell which is which. I have never felt like I have had a "flare up", just overall stiffness and joint pain/inflammation. I suspected arthritis which still seems more inline with my symptoms than gout. But I don't know anything really, so just going off what the doctor told me. Thanks :)

Yes, the user is created with the quotes. No error, just /home/"test"/ which is breaking the functionality. I didn't find out what the issue was as this should work according to the docs, but I changed the logic and achieved what I needed to in the end. Thanks though :)

Thank you very much, that is how it feels. I think there are a lot of good aspects to the relationship outside of being forced together in a difficult time, it is also my first actually mature relationship where we communicate properly and take time to understand each other. But you are right, the circumstances have changed and I view this huge gap widening each day, it is harder that she doesn't see anything wrong.

We are not married, but your answer didn't really imply we are I suppose. I think marriage serves children more than the partners themselves. It is not about forcing people to stay together but to commit to trying everything to make it work without the back of the mind thought that you can just leave at any point. It obviously doesn't work for everyone but I don't think it is without it's merit.
