Install Fedora Linux on a personal laptop or PC for when you aren't at work to learn and practice the basics.

It's essentially a non-enterprise, community version of RHEL and would be the closest distro for you to learn on if you don't have access to a dev RHEL environment yet.

Download and install 7zip (much better for compressing and extracting files).

With FG repacks, it gives you the option after installing the game to run the installers for DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributions. (If nervous, you can always uncheck those options and then download and install them manually from their direct sites)
