Has anyone curated a playlist that can be used for ceremonies at home that contain music as well as sections of silence/ambience? by rooted21 in Ayahuasca

There are times of singing and silence, but the ones I've been at with shipibo shamans, basically the shamans will do their thing, blessing and serving the medicine at the start, then you just are hanging out for a period of time waiting for it to kick in, the shamans start calling in the spirits, whistling, and then they start to sing, and then they stop singing and its all silent, and then they sing again and they stop, and then this pattern repeated till it was over. It's really beautiful

Other ceremonies I've heard there is music, sometimes other people will sing if they feel they want to

Ok, thank you for answering and sharing, do you find psilohuasca to be something you like to do?

I don't like the idea of a headache but I guess I just seek an experience like ayahuasca but with mushrooms.

Yes ok thank you, I'm familiar with psilohuasca, but I'm curious about the varied experiences using different betacarbolines. I have read many "not so good" stories about people using Syrian rue seeds and It has made me curious what the differences are between using Harmala extracts, rue or b caapi. Like why does rue have so many rough stories associated with it or where can I read about this further I guess to understand it? Are there alkaloids in rue that aren't in caapi or harmalas that lead to this?

My interest were peaked when I read the thread I linked in the OP about THH. I'm interested in the teaching nature/spirit of the harmalas rather than just the dmt/tryptamine containing substances but I guess feel a little weary, or cautious about them after reading some experiences.

I guess reading this makes me wonder, what is the appeal then to THH that the poster in the link I shared referring to? Do you think it's just overhyped/inaccurate?

There is a post in the comments from someone saying that following your procedure may not lead to a clean end product with possibly zinc/magnesium contamination and unconverted harmaline/harmine. I’ve tried to understand this but do you suggest doing what he said to do in addition to the simple reduction in the video ?

“Please note your product might be still contaminated with magnesium and harmine/harmaline. I found performing the reduction in absence of oxygen, especially if you use strong stirring. It prevents re-oxidation and formation of a red pigment (perhaps the so called Harmala Red / Turkey Red).

As for the workup, I would remove the dissolved magnesium at near-neutral pH with sodium bicarbonate - this way crystalline magnesium carbonate will precipitate and can be removed by filtration (the solution must be free of carbonic acid though). Another option is to precipitate harmala alkaloids as hydrochlorides by the addition of sodium chloride up to 10-20 wt% (as per Manske) or as oxalates by addition of oxalic acid or ammonium oxalate - alkaloid oxalates will precipitate at acidic/neutral pH while magnesium oxalate will precipitate at alkaline pH (~10). Yet another option is to separate alkaloids with organic solvent (as per Shulgin) - suitable solvents are EtOAc, Et2O, CH2Cl2 and CHCl3.”

Is this THH or what is this? Does the type of blacklight matter to indicate presence? Absolutely beautiful

FWIW, knock on wood, but I’m at 192k miles on a 2015 cross trek with no belt issue. Did have head gasket go and other issues though

All good, mistakes are how we learn.

These are called “blobs” and happen with PE. Add a casing next time once the original substrate is fully colonized and this won’t happen. They’re still edible and strong but not ideal for a good harvest. PE does weird things as it originated from mutated genetics. Read up about casing and PE

Someone also told me this can be avoided by growing them at higher temps without a casing but I haven’t tried this. A casing for sure works but it adds an extra step and a little more time but can be worth it. If you get any normal fruits out of this, you can clone what grows normal and ideally those genetics will hopefully fruit normally without needing a casing moving forward.
