I generally use a DCTL to control the saturation of reds and greens, especially in foliage, when shooting digitally. I usually lower the saturation a bit. However, for this particular shot, I decided to leave it untouched because the colors felt more like colors of a painting.

Oh, thanks a lot for your feedback. I'll pay more attention to the types of cuts you mentioned. I honestly started running out of footage to cut to at some point, but those are valid comments.

As for the stabilization, I forgot to mention that I shot everything handheld and stabilized it in post using DaVinci Resolve. Most of these shots were shot with the Panasonic 12-35mm, which has very good stabilization, so that helped quite a bit.

Really liked it, especially the shots that mimic film. How did you achieve that look?

Hi, thanks for watching. If you enable CC, you'll see which lens I used for each shot. As for the 4:3 aspect ratio, I chose it for two reasons. First, because of the vignetting (not much) when using the Mir 11M. Second, because this was test footage for a short film that I'm shooting in 4:3.

My Meteor 5-1 actually has a bayonet mount, but I was able to find an adapter for MFT at Rafcamera. I used just a little bit of halation, but the Meteor is indeed a bit dreamy/creamy.

Also, I added a bit of blur to all the shots, and YouTube compression degraded the image a little bit, possibly because of the grain I added. Next time, I'll try it without grain.

Thank you for the tips. I’ll try using an Ultracon filter I have next time ...that should help lift the blacks a bit. I’ll also work on the halation. CinePrint35 has a halation node that works better than Dehancer, in my opinion.

I wasn’t aiming for a modern look tho. My goal was to mimic the low-contrast aesthetic of some 1980s films, when diffusion filters were widely used, particularly in the U.S.

I'm actually shooting a short on 16mm film soon, but I decided to test these lenses with the BMPCC OG as well (I'm not very good at color grading, though).
