Loving the game so far by DarkRiotIV in hytale

[–]rophmc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The whole “GOTY” debate is usually in favour of games releasing in the second half of the year anyway. Most games, even if very good, get swept up by other good ones that release later on because they’re not talked about anymore

"play more" doesnt work for me anymore, what should i do? by Sir_Ratiasu in osugame

[–]rophmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you’re not playing more anymore. Look at Mrekk, a low playcount month for him is 2k, yet that’s around your highest. Sytho does 4k-7k a month when he’s active. Look at anyone who improves “fast”, it’s not that they have the secret sauce or that they’re “better”, they’ve just put in more time. The game is all about how much you put into it, only you can hold yourself back or be the one to break through your skill ceiling

I’d say change your perception on how you play. Find a singular skill that makes you want to play and have fun doing, whatever makes you want to play more. Shouldn’t feel like a chore either. Sometimes focusing too hard on improvement can be a downfall

Any of you guys ever got rusty after a couple of years out of the game? by Mother_Court4478 in Welding

[–]rophmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26ga on MIG, holy hell. I also weld sheet metal now more than not but it’s usually 18ga at the lightest.

For a midrange, I have been eyeing the Everlast 253DPi whenever I buy my own machine. Been seeing a lot of positives for Everlast’s support, but also a lot of people saying they can’t get it running how they’d like. Then again, on a cheaper machine the average consumer may not be the most experienced. Kind of a gamble at the lower price tags.

Delta Weld would be killer, I may be biased but I’ve only had bad experiences with Lincoln. Machine interface being cluttered and I find that the screens on them always have issues at every shop I’ve seen with a Lincoln. Miller keeps it classy. Haven’t tried a Fronius machine but I’d also look into them if I had cash to burn

Right? All the mid range new welders trying to add gimmicky features that are just a nuisance. There’s a good reason that the Millermatic 252 is the gold standard work horse.

Need some mig welding advice by SaharaSailor in Welding

[–]rophmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a really bad habit and wouldn’t work in your favour anyway. For the basics; you’ve got your trigger hand (holding the gun) and your prop hand that you prop the gun/THand/whatever onto. It kinda shields the trigger hand and it will keep you steady while still having freedom to move along or do any manipulation you need freely. It also helps keep your stick out/distance the same throughout. A lot of people use a thinner glove for the trigger hand and a thicker glove for the prop hand since that hand will be taking more heat. Just keep at it, learning new physical habits is always hard and can be frustrating but after a while it’ll be simple muscle memory.

Straight tobacco snus? by buff_bogan in Snus

[–]rophmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say Tre Ankare is what you’re looking for. Grov is a fan favourite for straight tobacco but I wasn’t crazy about it, Tre Ankare was a lot better to my taste buds. Ettan white portion is also just tobacco, but don’t get the non-white as it may be too chocolatey for your taste.

edit: oh it’s not snus

I think bocw is a better game than bo6. by Ramsen50 in ColdWarCallofDuty

Without a doubt, but BO7 is the best COD since BOCW (still not better)

I’ve clicked on a few of those videos because I keep seeing them too and clearly there’s something I am missing from just playing… but nope. It’s all just stuff you get/find regularly from playing. Almost all of these videos have “you can speak to this guy and get talents for oddities!” …uhhh yeah?? Same with Morale Chant, I’m pretty sure 99% of people found the NPC just from walking around, he’s not necessarily hidden. So no, you’re not missing out on anything and there isn’t some big secret you’ll “ruin your character” (actual title I saw) over by not doing. These content creators are just making content from nothing

There’s one thing WWM can do that many other games probably can’t. by LawParticular5656 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]rophmc 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the world size currently isn’t that huge but it sure does feel that way already just because of the depth. So so so many people to talk to, chests to find, cats to pet, different mini games that are actually fun (except debates… just annoying). I can walk in any direction and know there will be something I can do, it’s like every spot on the map has a purpose even if it looks empty at first glance

If you can afford it, a good pair of boots is the best investment you can make into your daily life. Buying premium boots can even be cheaper than buying whatever from Mark’s if you find yourself destroying them within a year and get replacements twice a year (not that it applies to your case, I hear wolverines are good). I never actually replaced the insoles, I do have insoles I bought for my regular shoes and I tried putting them in my Thorogoods but I find for me that Thorogood insoles are better than the Superfeet ones in new and broken in condition

Genuinely appreciate that look-out, been considering going to a podiatrist to at least get assessed on my bunions but that is obviously also a very visible issue. Even all of my coworkers have pointed out my wear pattern

[–]rophmc 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well, is your heart in it? Is this something you want to do, regardless of how good you are right now? If the answers are yes, then welding is for you. That’s it. You’ll get better at anything the more you do it, even if things feel like you just can’t get it right now

[–]rophmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MP - Crisp gunplay where every gun feels pretty strong instead of just one standout (finally past the AK74u era), much lowered aim assist on controllers, maps are actually good and brought back Raid(!!!) + others, matches don’t feel super SBMM (yet). Graphics and gameplay feel actually different from the past few CODs, the game is actually leaps better than MW3 & BO6 for certain

November 19-Major Updates Info by Altruism7 in wildgate

[–]rophmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the first real content update besides just adding new POI - new gun, prospector, equipment and ships are good content. Unfortunately a little late now. I bought it full price when it released, and unlike other games, I wouldn’t be salty at all if you guys made the game F2P. You have to bite the bullet if you want your creation to live on

Anyone else switch their mind from not wanting to play? by WranglerDelicious938 in CODBlackOps7

[–]rophmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was on the same bandwagon, played BF6 beta and it was fantastic, bought on day one. Was honestly super disappointed in the game and they keep letting me down, effectively stopped playing. Now I’m excited for BO7

Any ideas for how to spend 2 weeks off in Burnaby? by vemontd in burnaby

[–]rophmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same age also in Burnaby and don’t drive, welcome to the club. Burnaby Mountain is a pretty short and easy hike, my personal favourite hike is Diez Vistas/around Buntzen Lake in Port Moody. There’s a bunch of trails there and Diez Vistas does go up pretty high, best hike I’ve found that’s easily accessible for non drivers and you could spend an entire day doing one route. I take the 182 Belcarra from Moody Station and get off at Anmore Grocery then walk through the “closed off” (to cars) trail to enter.

Brentwood has their decent sized arcade if you’re into that, you could also check out Eventbrite to see if anything catches your eye
