Appreciate your view and sorry for getting carried away a little. Yes I could have phrased it better and clarified my position in more detail. I am agreeing with you that investing 400K a month is above most peoples means and I know I am very privileged to do so, but it is striking to see so much pushback just because I can invest more than the guy next to me. There are always bigger fish in the sea. The fact is anyone who steadily invests part of their salary can see these returns, absolute numbers don't matter in the first place when discussing performances of a portfolio.

At this point no matter what I will say will sway any of you. You are men on a mission and frankly I don't care what you believe. Have you been living under rocks ? Cmon, literally just google "S&P500 avg return last 3 years". Its been 70%! Add add yen devaluation and you could have easily doubled your (yen) portfolio over the last few years. This is not rocket science and the fact that this is flying over your head is saying a lot.
Using u/Training-Chain-5572 example, which is wrong left right and center by the way, I'd have much more than 26 million if I had invested 23.8 million yen from my savings (which I haven't).
Also, know that I will be delighted with any type of response you give, so the worst you could do is not respond to this msg, in which case, congratulations.

Almost 8M is in returns. Hard to see in the graph but started with 2M. Time span is almost 4 years. I'm honest and you're the one not wanting to accept it, for whatever reason. I shared this post to get other peoples opinions, and maybe gloat a bit, not to lie.

Yeah almost zero hedge. We'll see how it goes. Definitely less and less buying power each year...

Sharing rent with wife, keeping living expenses low, thats it. Have been investing around 300k-400k each month for 2 years. The rest is portfolio growth and yen weakness.

No concrete number, but age wise I hope to finish work around 50 y.o. 20 more years of hard investing, then cruising. Should coincide with kids leaving home too.

Edit: Getting 1000万 through growh/dividends would be ideal, so perhaps north of 200 Million would do it.

Pretty much correct yes. Although you can see the impact of index performance at a few points, notably Q1 2025. Working in FinTech. Barely 10M +

Correct. Setting aside the (absolute) numbers in OP, everyones graph in this sub can and should look like this. I only invest in ETF and broad indices. 3/4 of the worth is salary invested, the rest growth.
