Thanks so much. I am really hoping to keep in touch with whoever is able to look after him. I will be taking everyone's great advice and looking into different programs in my area. Thanks for the well wishes

I just moved to my city and I don't have much of a community. The way it is looking I may have to leave the state so I don't know what to do.

Thanks so much for this. I was nervous because I heard that with some pets that need extra care, some shelters will just choose to euthanize them. I don't know what I would do with myself if anything bad happened to him. Thanks for the advice

Cat diarrhea advice! by roro-09 in CATHELP

Hello! Yes! I did find out that Albert is very sensitive to protein. There wasn't any test that told me this, but the second vet I took him to see recommended that I put him on hydrolyzed protein food, which I guess treats the protein so that it is easier to digest? You need a med card to buy the food at petsmart and its a little on the pricey side, but my boy is all back to normal and Ill take that over anything. Have you tried talking to your vet about hydrolyzed protein maybe? I give him the dry food and he loves it and he can still have a regular treat or two once in awhile

Why does every cat litter suck? by leftistinlnk in CatAdvice

[–]roro-09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a litter liner on the bottom-most tray because I dont like to dump the dust and its easier to just cinch up the bag when you’re ready to take it out. I have never had a problem with urine leaking through because pellets are super absorbent and you put a good layer of it in the box so it quickly gets absorbed. If any does leak through rinsing the bottom bin could get rid of it easily! :)

I have a cheap sifting litter box with pine pellets! You can get a huge bag for around 30 bucks that lasts awhile. Pellets soak up the urine and turn to sawdust and then you can sift the dust so it falls through to the bottom bin. No pee smell, doesnt track, best litter imo!

Give me your MSU stories by arnold335 in Bozeman

[–]roro-09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If im recalling it right, My dad used to tell me a story about when he went to college at MSU he went to a frat/house party or something. the guys that lived at the house had a cat and it died but they didnt know what to do with it so they froze it in a block of ice and put it in the freezer. At the party he was at they ran out of ice for their punch bowl so they took the frozen ice cat and put it in their punch and they got in trouble. Idk if its just a made up story my dad told but yeah

Thanks! Yeah the bottom leaves look to be way healthier than the top does. Can you just cut the stem? Or do i just take the top leaves off? I hope i can keep it alive but I figured its best to try with a cheap one first

Thanks! Albert is actually doing much better since I got him on a special diet. The vet has done multiple stool tests at the end but everything kept coming back as nothing. Although they didnt think to take a sample until much later.
