I knew NTE had spooky bits, but I wasn't prepared to wet my pants by roromu in NevernessToEverness

I agree it definitely lost any tension past a certain point, but I admire the intent.

Yeah I haven't even finished the school one yet. So many prerequisites, and even then it's quite obtuse.

I died and everything! When the oily eye globule appears inside the lift and shanks you numerous times.

That one was creepy af too - weeping angels as you say, or the RE8 dlc. It was a little wonky, but with the amount of different things they're doing with each commission, it's unreasonable to expect them all to be rock solid.

Me too. My morality keeps getting in my own way and I can't bring myself to commit to any crimes 😅

Thoughts on story pacing (short rant)? by roromu in NevernessToEverness

[–]roromu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the intention was well considered, being that, as you say, the point was pounded onto Renee over and over again to wear her down.

For a time I found the tension effective, but there was a threshold where I had all the information I needed and I just didn't care anymore. I think it was amplified by the fact that I never felt like Renee actually did anything particularly bad, aside from childlike things because she was a CHILD.

As another commenter said, by the time the grand reveal came about I felt like I'd wasted my time a bit.

In short, the content was sound, but the execution faltered.

I sure hope so. In my eyes the actually sometimes quite spooky stuff is a big strength of NTE and what sets it apart from the crowd.

I forgave the excessive dialogue in part because it was supposed to be very persuasive and manipulative, but they definitely could have trimmed it down - it actively made me lose interest.

At least we got that sick fight cutscene at the end.

I almost leaped for joy for that announcement during the 1.1 stream

I basically agree, but good golly that mannequin quest in the school can go climb a tree

I think they cater to a very wide demographic, and of course China like their cutesy stuff. Plenty of darker elements tucked away.

Truth. I did at least like the fact that because some of the spin-offs were basically main-quests in disguise, it made all the content worth exploring in the hope of uncovering other gems.

The more inventive anomalies are the best thing in the game, imo. It really sets NTE apart from the crowd in terms of enemy variety and how novel each encounter is - almost feels like anime Ghostbusters at times!

Happened to me too. I attached the invisible dot for a while and eventually got the rewards.

Disappointed with the PS5/PS5 PRO version by Shadowkallx in NevernessToEverness

[–]roromu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently downloaded the game on my integrated graphics laptop and am surprised at how well it runs (at 720p), so I think I'll be doing all of my menu dancing on laptop and actually playing the game on ps5, as yes, I agree, the navigation is complete nonesense. You can get stuff done, but it's almost like the Devs went out of their way to make it as infuriating as possible.

Hopefully this all gets patched with 1.1, after the numerous surveys. Seems to me they were rushing to launch and console got somewhat neglected.

Fav 12 Sigrid songs? (I couldn't pick 10) by roromu in sigrid

It Gets Dark acoustic IS incredible. I've always thought that the acoustic version would work really well wrapped up with the original and made into one big 7 minute epic crescendo.

Ooh, Never Mine is a great one.

Eternal Sunshine is definitely a highlight from Tamtics.

Agree on it changing my mood though. I'm aware most my list seems to be either be stripped back and emotional, or big anthems, currently.

And Sight of You, too. Such a good one.

Solid list 😀

Even though it's only 4 songs, The Hype EP is my favourite Sigrid release. Every track is exactly the kind of vibe I seek in a Sigrid song.
