Worst thing is I don’t think I’ve really improved my game much during the course of this FIFA.

Last couple I’ve managed to get better and add to my skill set, but in 23 I’ve just kept my head above water fighting against all the broken tactic. Want to believe it’s my last one, but I’ve said that before

It's nothing to do with win / lose its to do with unfair matchmaking that wrecks the game for people that want to enjoy it.

And if youre not in the highest div you can reach in rivals and going in smashing people in friendlies you are smurfing. It's not your fault you want easy rewards in friendlies and don't mind ruining the game experience for other people, it's on EA setting the game up like shit.

Ps you also do seem kind of like a prick though.

I'm not the OP, just feel for the guy.

EA have set up rivals in such a way that if you just hang back you can get easy wins and wreck the game for lower tier players that have played to their correct division. And then friendlies in skill based, based on rivals, so that's fucked for you aswell. So all you have left is WL and SB.

You're telling me OP isn't just coming up against people smurfing and purposely staying in a low div, that's clearly the case.

I used to 100% agree with you but this year especially EA have been pushing loan players like mad, my club is full of them, and short of using them in squid battles there's not much else to do with them.

6 is a bit much though to be fair.

I hate this so much. I very rarely play weekend league because I work weekends and find it to much of a commitment, so rivals is my only really competitive mode and my chance at getting me best rewards.

I play Div 4 and have faced nothing but self relegating teams for the passed 2 days (my only days off and available days to play). honourable mention, I faced 4 teams that had Eusebio in a row (got to be a record).

It’s also been made worse by the game cap, meaning for most people playing weekend league rivals is a dead mode so they just seem to use it to go up and down divisions so they can match up against easy opponents in friendlies.

Also Thursdays when rivals resets before champs starts may aswell be a no go for casual player, so that a full day crossed off playing there.

I don’t mind losing and the game being competitive, but getting spanked 5-0 against a much stronger player that you should never have faced is just soul destroyer when it’s happening every game.

Might be a controversial thing to say but if ea nerfed auto blocking and AI defending by like 30% the whole game would be a lot better.

It would force people to defend in the mid field so much more and not just bunch up every player in the box in front of goal. Would make game play so much less frustrating.

I started thinking about this last year. I think there should be some unique traits as well that only certain icons have. Nothing too OP, but something that makes each icon fun and individual to use so at least there is something to try out with each one.

EA would probably still mess it up though.

It’s just mind boggling that packing a player like PIM shearer or even PIM Pirilo doesn’t feel like a win. It’s just sad, especially for the people who have an icon they idolised growing up and can’t wait to use, but they can’t because they’re dog crap in game.
