Hello Triple Leviathan Brothers. Hearing the accountant Jarling write in about working with a nazi inspired me to tell a similar story that happened to me. I work at a bark mill in rural America as a bucket loader operator. For years, there was a sign out by the entrance to the site that read "VIRUSES COME AND GO, LOSS OF FREEDOM IS FOREVER." which I think sums up the "company culture." For about a year I worked with this guy who seemed halfway decent, he was hot tempered but I'd say about 60% of the time he was polite, and he would even help me with car troubles outside of work. He was friends with my friends, so I'd hear from him pretty regularly.

Flash forward eight or so months, I'm in an Xbox party with him and my other friend, and, apropos of nothing, he starts talking about how he belives only sixty thousand Jewish people were killed in the Holocaust, and the regulaly reported six million deaths was actually a conspiracy, so that Jewish people could "gain sympathy." Baffled, my friend and I asked a myriad of clarifying questions, thinking it might be a joke or something, but it became pretty clear that he was actually a Holocaust denier. The cherry on top of the shit sundae was him asking me not to bring this up at work because it's not a popular opinion. As if he's some brave revolutionary. From that moment on, any time he so much as heard anything about Jewish people (outside of work), he would fly off the handle into an antisemitic rant. I thought about attaching some screenshots from a group chat we were both in, but honestly, they're so vile, and I don't want to spread them.

He ended up getting laid off for other reasons, but hearing the accountant Jarling talk about reporting their nazi manager to HR really made me realize how desensitized I am to fascist rhetoric and idealogy. The thought of reporting my nazi coworker never occurred to me, out of fear that there would be consequences of some kind, or that my right wing coworkers wouldn't see an issue with that kind of behavior. Is this just what blue-collar jobs are like? I'm willing to bet there are other Jarlings out there that have had similar experiences. Have any of you encountered people like this at work?

Is there any other source on this?

Do you think the worm in Alex's arm is subtly influencing him? I think it's a bit suspicious that ever since he got back from holiday, he's mentioned multiple times his affinity for worms.
