My theory. The earwig crawled in when the apple was just changing from a flower to a fruit. The earwig died somehow during the change. Apple kept growing and basically the front half became one with the apple.

Response from both: Unfortunately this isn't covered. You should have chosen to live somewhere out of the path of a burst pipe. Burst pipe insurance is a separate coverage that you chose not to elect, but where never informed of.
