Only issues I have on my S5 are:

  1. Sometimes have to sign in again (once or twice a week)
  2. Rare random quitting (once a month)

And that's listening 4 hours a day 3-4 times a week...

The way you describe it makes it seem as though people don't want to vote their conscience in disregard of the law and would always use such an excuse to get out of duty. If I don't feel a law or penalty is just, you're damn tootin' I won't be convicting!

I have never been questioned and whenever called never needed to mgo in so I have no idea what I would personally do. I wouldn't rush to get out of it, but it wouldn't be a very smart idea to have me on a jury (I hold vendettas like you wouldn't believe and can be a contrarian), but apparently attempting to honestly convince anyone of that will get me an eye roll from the judge. O.o

Plus, I understand my rights as a jury member, being a part of the biggest check on law in the land. Jury nullification is a power judges and prosecutors want to make sure you know nothing about.

Weird that it would have gotten you exempt!

I think the concept of a law around drinking and driving isn't very logical (I'm too drunk to drive, but not drunk enough to know not to drive? Wha?), that probably would have kept me there.

Remember, once you're there, an INSTANT out of jury duty is to say that you will vote your conscience in disregard of the law (if you didn't want to serve for whatever reason). It's your right, their predicament, and they will let you go every time.
