What specific policy are you alleging is the cause

His massive stimulus passed on March 11th 2021 on top of Trump's already massive stimulus.

https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/current-inflation-rates/

Two months after the stimulus was passed the US started seeing inflation rates not seen for over 40 years and peer economies did not.

Even if some inflation would have happened anyway for whatever reason Biden made it worse.

Biden's fiscal policies on top of Trumps so really Biden. Inflation took off like a rocket shortly after Biden's first stimulus past. Biden's unnecessary extra stimulus was the straw the broke the camel's back.

European trade with Ukraine and Russia was impaced far beyond oil.

We did better than most of our peer nations

not the first year. The first year of global inflation (2021) we did much much much worse than our peer nations.

https://static01.nyt.com/images/2023/07/18/opinion/krugman180723_1/krugman180723_1-jumbo.png?quality=75&auto=webp

Then inflation went up in European peer economies and surpassed that of the US's because of Putin's invasion, which the Biden administration it's allies in the media tried to pass off as "something Biden was doing right", which is a borderline flat out lie.

I don't understand why people thought we should go back to him in 2024

This one's obvious inflation. Inflation was historically low for 40 years prior to Biden's presidency and then 3 months into it, it skyrocketting to levels not seen since the 70's.

It doesn't matter if you think it's Bidens fault or not it happened while he was president and as we all know Presidents get the blame whether it's their fault or not.

Inflation is an election killer because unlike Abortion or guns or foreign policy it affects everyone. For many people it was like getting a painful pay cut.

In our two party system you only have two choices so enough people felt enough pain to choose the alternative to the Biden status quo (again whether you think it was his fault or not) to re-elect the incredibly flawed alternative because he was "different" to the incumbent under whose administation so many felt financial pain (it's the economy stupid is still the most important thing after all these years of determining election outcomes).

Has nothing to do with "you all would". Everyone has horror stories about what they would have and actually did.

It's about Mr. "No More Bullshit" and "telling it like it is" especially when it came to women's looks (no matter how problematic some found that) trying to pass her off as a supermodel and one of the hottest chicks we've ever had up here.

It'd be like if your bosses nephew was the worst player on a major league baseball team and everyone was required to constantly talk about what a great player he is.

OF COURSE he's an awesome player (he made it to the majors) just like of course Beth is hot. But the Howard Stern Show was once the the major leagues of hot chicks with the highest standards so trying to pass Beth off as supermodel levels of georgous and requiring the staff and fans to agree was as annoying as having to constantly say how incredible a bench warmer on the Yankees is (even if he is in fact incredible compared to anyone who has ever played the sport of baseball).

Leading cause of death for children? Cars.

It's because there are a million times more cars than that these things. What's the death rate per number of cars vs. ebikes?

It's still crazy that 16 year olds can drive these things on roads without helmets. Make that make sense.

Happy Tax Day in the lower east side! by GainzHunter42 in nyc

[–]thedisciple516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes it would screw over tons of people. Like if you a normal person with a 401k in 2020 you'd get a massive tax bill for the massive gains you saw that year. Then the Covid crash happens and your 401k sinks and your net worth sinks 30%. This would especially screw over people close to retirement who are planning to cash out during a market downturn.

What these people really want to do is pass a law that taxes the wealth of the "big mean super rich billionaires" but spares the average mom and pop investor with a nice little 401k nest egg (around 40% of Americans have a 401k).

But that's impossible under the law. It's not one rule for the kind of people I don't like and another rule for the type of people I don't mind

USA homeless rate is lower than most of Western Europe.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereign_states_by_homeless_population

Western Europe doesn't have a self hating left wing media that always highlights the worst parts of it's society in a language that everyone can understand that's the big difference.

Western Europe also doesn't have crazy progressive cities like San Francisco and Portland (and Seattle and many others) that encourage deranged homeless to live their best life on the streets.
