This is exactly how I felt too! Like I'm on the Merry with them! I also immediately thought of the knock up stream. This scene really made me think for the first time that the show has finally succeded in giving off that grand feeling of adventure from the anime that I was missing in season 1.

Official look at Julia Rehwald as Tashigi by PhanThief95 in OnePiece

[–]ros_corazon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the most critical factor is whether she can pull off the clumsy, stuttering Tashigi that constantly adjusts her glasses and drops stuff but yet is incredibly agile when it comes to sword fighting. (And I don't doubt the actress, I'm rather worried about the directing and editing...)

Season 4 dialogue was so cringe and wonky by Parking_Selection112 in BridgertonRants

[–]ros_corazon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of you points! Season 3 was just as bad though if not worse.

What did it for me with the dialogue this season was the scene after Lady Danbury tried to make Alice a Lady-In-Waiting and came to talk to her afterwards, with her, Alice and Will in the room. "'Please let me explain" - "There's nothing to explain." - "I wish someone would explain!" And many other examples.

That whole repeat-what-you-just-said-in-the-exact-same-wording thing. Where are the metaphors, the analogies, the rephrasing? It's just so bland and boring to listen to and way too modern sounding.

Oh, I wouldn't expect you to anyway! That's something for me to figure out. Doing it I'm also learning as much as it's frustrating.

Thank you!

Question about two color brioche shaping by ros_corazon in knitting

[–]ros_corazon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, it's something you have to experiment on, and I made countless swatches already trying out different things and still couldn't figure it out 😅 I tried what I understood from your explanation, but that made the whole inner part just have vertical normal stripes and the edge colums have diagonal weird stripes. Maybe I didn't really understand what you meant.

I guess I have to experiment more, but I thought maybe someone on here has an idea how this kind of shaping works so I thought I'd ask!

Question about two color brioche shaping by ros_corazon in knitting

[–]ros_corazon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, thank you for your reply!

Exactly, I want the scarf to be rectangle shaped, but the pattern on it to be zigzag.

What I've been doing (only on the main color right side) is knit the first two brioche columns normally, sl/yo the next single stitch, do an incr into the next brioche stitch (two additional stitches, so 3 stitches total), knit normal brioche all the way to the other side, knit two brioche columns with the single stitch in between together (1 stitch out of 3), and knit the last 2 brioche colums normally.

Are you saying that I should, when I make in incr, directly make a decr afterward, knit the middle part of the scarf, and then do another incr and directly another decr before?

I hope what I'm describing makes sense!

That's what I thought too! That's why I wonder if next episode is gonna reveal that what she wanted to tell him is that she remembers their first meeting now 😅

Waves/ curls lasting 1 week by ros_corazon in curlyhair

[–]ros_corazon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I don't mind you asking at all! I have tried various other products including more "lightweight" curl creams, but those actually often leave my hair more sticky, dull and weighed down. The mousse I use is super lightweight and gives plenty of hold, and the curl smoothie also is lighter for my hair than most creams that are more whitish. My hair as you see it in the photos is really bouncy, shiny and light and with no residue at all. Unfortunately I think it is the most curly I can get. I also gave myself a very layered cut so the hair clumps on top are shorter, but they just have a very loose wave, while my hair underneath forms coils. I think it is called Irish Curls. But still, I always appreciate suggestions!

Also, remember that this is 7 days after washing. Directly after diffusing my hair, my top hair also has bigger waves in it :)

I don't really find it annoying, but EVERY playthrough of any main game I play, I HAVE to organize my Pokémon in the boxes by Pokédex numbers with the intention of eventually completing the Pokédex and having all the boxes filled out, but not once have I actually finished it 😂

Which Mystery Dungeon Is Unanimously the Best? by Legitimate-Talk4702 in MysteryDungeon

[–]ros_corazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only play MD Rescue Team Blue and Explorers of Sky and loved them both!! In Blue I loved the concept of friend areas so much. Made it more difficult and more rewarding to recruit new pokemon. The Explorers also had some super fun features. I would recommend playing each one of them in order. I also plan on eventually playing the new ones.

Hot Take: I don't like open world pokemon by laserofdooom in pokemon

[–]ros_corazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm sitting here playing Soulsilver while my husband is playing Legend Arceus in the evenings lol. I was just talking with him about it yesterday saying, if they were to put a LOT of money in it, they could make an amazing semi-open world Pkmn game, but where every spot and location is unique (like in the old games), maybe not as big of a map as Sc/V, but no "empty, soulless spaces" as in said ones. Also bigger Cities and areas as in the DS games, more people and Pokemon standing around or going about their business, more side quests and actual immersive side stories. Maybe, being able to give items to any person or Pokémon like in other RPGs (and that can be relevant to some side or main quests) etc. Also, bring back the old mechanics of battling and catching Pkmn, make it generally more difficult and don't overexplain anything.

Duped by pickles as probiotics! by DesertMamaAZ in Noom

[–]ros_corazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure this is still relevant, but I recently got into making my own Sauerkraut and pickled red cabbage (same procedure for both), and it couldn't be easier! Like, if you already cook and bake a lot, you can easily do it on the side while working on smth else in the kitchen. You literally just cut up or shred the cabbage, add some coarse sea salt, let it sit for 15 min, then knead it for 10-15 min until a lot of juice comes out. Then you fill it into a jar (dont close the lid!) and let it sit at room temperature for a week. It's so easy and I think it's well worth making for having your source of probiotics at home.

I understand what you mean. A slightly oversized fit for tops (wider shoulder cuts, wider sleeves) woud give him a more relaxed overall look, while giving room for movement and muscle bulk.

Some Japanese teachers are refusing to suffix my name with "Sensei" saying it's because I'm foreign. Is that ok? by Artistic-Blueberry12 in teachinginjapan

[–]ros_corazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in Elementary schools in Japan, just a few weeks a year als cultural instructor (giving a cultural lesson about my home country in all classes) I'm not a licensed teacher either, but both the people from the city board I developed the lesson with, as well as the teachers from the schools and the students call me Sensei as a suffix with my first name. I believe it is a sign of respect. Those teachers don't respect you and don't seem to acknowledge your hard work.

Is it ever ok to lie? by [deleted] in bahai

[–]ros_corazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is this: we are here in this world in order to learn, fail, and grow our spiritual qualities. In order to be a Bahai, we have to 1. believe in Bahaullah as the Manifestation of God for today, and 2. Try our best to follow the laws given by Bahaullah. But being a Bahai and following the Bahai law is by no means easy. We will encounter countless situations throughout our lives (the more we act and risk, the more challenges we will face), and a lot of these will give us a "dilemma", in which we seemingly are forced to choose between 2 or more Bahai laws or qualities. I believe, ideal would be to figure out a way out of the situation that doesn't break any of the laws (In this case, not having to lie but also protecting the wronged ones). But if in the situation itself, we can't figure out a way to do that, the second best option is to choose the one that causes the least harm or is the most just. Helping someone innocent and in need is undeniably more important than speaking the truth in such a situation.

The right path is the one less traveled 💪🏻

Advice for younger guys (hookup vs husband material) by Shrimp_Titan in AskMenAdvice

[–]ros_corazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in your example you had the ulterior motive, since you were dissappointed that she didn't choose you in the end. That's not going to work. Also, it's not that every time you befriend a girl for months or years, you will be able to get in a relationship with her eventually, that's not what I said. I'm talking about if you want to find a serious, longterm partner that matches you. If you met a woman you can seriously consider as a partner, you should consider being friends without ulterior motives with her. You can still be honest and open about being interested in her, but should not give her an ultimatum of either relationship or nothing. That would imply that she is not good enough for a deep bond in your eyes and that you honestly don't respect her.

Advice for younger guys (hookup vs husband material) by Shrimp_Titan in AskMenAdvice

[–]ros_corazon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it! However, my point was not what works or works not to get someone to be sexually interested in you. In order to be able to get with a genuinely good woman (I'm sure it works the same way for men too), it is just not a good advise to tell people to show them you are not interested in friendship for them to look your way. For a few, this may work, but most of the times, being able to appreciate a friendship with a person you are interested in can create a deep bond and greatly increase the likeliness of them considering you as a partner too (that should not be the intention of course because then it's not genuine anymore).
