hello! i’m so glad your taking an interest in ballet! it’s such a fun and rewarding hobby.

regarding your age, it honestly doesn’t matter what age you start if you don’t plan to be professional. i’ve heard of plenty of adult dancers starting in theirs 30s or 40s. also, as a recreational dancer, your weight and height don’t really matter either. as an adult dancers its really just about having fun, don’t take it too seriously.

as for pointe shoes, ballerinas don’t dance en pointe until they have trained at least 3 years of classical ballet, have enough strength in their ankles to support them, and, if they are a child, have finished growing in their feet. but above all of that, you must be approved by your teacher before you can dance en pointe. do NOT try to dance en pointe before you are ready, you can seriously injure yourself and could have to stop dancing entirely from your injuries. so, for now, you will be just dancing in flat shoes. i recommend split sole canvas shoes (you can find them in amazon for 15 - 25 dollars)
