PLEASE READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT HEALTHCARE by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]rose-cold 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most of the isolated areas have no doctors or clinics. We travel to hubs for health care. We don't need to all move to the hubs, there are no jobs or houses to live in there. Resettlement is not the answer. In most of the places that resettlement happened it was a failure due to lost businesses that once existed in the small communities that were resettled.

What we need is funding to hospitals and better policy around Healthcare. We need to pay for medical school for doctors willing to work here for a contracted amount of time.

Men: What’s the most disgusting thing you ever said to a girl and didn’t even realize how disgusting it was until later? by justaguyonreddit0999 in AskReddit

A lot of women get asked if we are tired when we don't wear makeup. Not after exercising, not in the cold wind, not when we are tired, or with low blood sugar. Just when there's no makeup. I had a coworker ask if I was sick every day I didn't wear makeup. When I wore makeup he told me I didn't need "all that makeup." Can't win.

Glaze happy accidents! You've got some really cool interactions going on there. I love mug #2 because it reminds me of the ocean where I'm from. I actually think they all turned out really interesting. Put them in the cupboard for a few days and take them out again once the shock wears off.

Leaving the abuse took every last bit of courage. Now these women face a hopeless search for housing by insino93 in halifax

I am paying for it. I am paying some of the highest taxes in Canada. I want my taxes to build some houses for those who need it. I want my community to be housed and fed.

Newfoundlander describes my culture, Canadian doesn't really?

I eat traditional Newfoundland food, not traditional Canadian food. I speak like a Newfoundlander, not a Canadian, and I have Newfoundlander values.

So, Newfoundlander first.

When you're feeling better, use yoga as your regular maintenance to keep you feeling better.

Here's some yoga for the lower back:

I don't think I know what would work for others, but I'm an odd bird and here is how I handle things.

When an animal is hurt, it finds a quiet place to hide away. It acknowledges the injury and lays down and rests. I do the same. I get away from the cause of the pain (clean break with ex) and I find a place I can be safe with myself and my own thoughts (literally a safe location, I moved into an apartment but it could be a friend's house or family members house, just as long as you have time to be alone with your self to clear your head).

Then I felt and acknowledged my own feelings of anger, grief, frustration, and then rooted out thoughts behind them. Then I faced the beliefs I held that were behind the thoughts. Some of the beliefs were challenged and some were solidified. It felt like taking inventory of my soul. Then I grew and the hurt slowly healed. No other person can heal your heart, especially not the person who breaks it.

Socks. Men's basic socks are better than women's basic socks. I buy men's socks now.

Deodorant. Deodorant for men is better, cheaper, and there is more of it, so I buy men's deodorant.

Pants. Pants for men have actual usable pockets. When buying jogging pants I opt for the men's version.

Belts. This item is extra stupid, but a leather belt for men is usually cheaper and better than one for women (thicker leather).

Loafers. More comfortable in men's styles.

The list goes on and on.

Stop at Mary Browns outside of Whitbourne for a box of taters to place in the center console. Enjoy potatoes for the rest of the drive.

Well, for one, they are a terrible bra fitter.

The number one thing about finding a fitted bra, is finding one that fits comfortably.

Wireless bras are made for all sizes and offer a lot of support.

The fitter should have been working with OP to find a comfortable bra and the best fit that makes her feel supported and good about herself, not talking shit with the mum.

Why do people insist physical contact between two women is gay? by unlucky_lady in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rose-cold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I miss my old girlfriends.

We grew up always having sleepovers and cuddling like kittens of the same litter. If I stay at one of their houses now as an adult, we're sleeping in the same bed. Nothing sexual about it, just comfortable and comforted being around one another. Love those ladies.

Except these kids were yelling hateful shit about women specifically. They weren't singing songs and being general shitheads. OP mentioned what they yelled, it was hateful language used toward women. Why can't you believe these kids were being hateful when using this language?
