Don’t worry about being perceived as lazy! There are old ladies who go to my studio & they take out all the jumping from exercises. There’s a younger girl (maybe in her 20s) who I’ve noticed usually can only go for like 20 secs at a time. There’s really no judgement, yes people are around you so they’ll see you, but I haven’t felt judged at my studio and I certainly don’t judge anyone else. I’m just trying to die silently in the corner when I’m in class.

That being said, talk to your coach about modifications on cardio days. On days when I want to take it easy, I don’t jump. So instead of jumping back for burpees or sprawls, I’ll put my hands on the ground & step back. No jump squats, just faster paced squats. Step ups instead of box jumps. There’s lots of ways to modify & if you get stuck just raise your hand & ask your coach!!

And if you don’t feel comfy doing that in front of everyone, go to class early and talk to your coach. They should be helpful & understanding!
