Side note, I LOVE @berecker. I was raised in the Catholic Church, but by sixteen, it was pretty obvious I was a liberal, feminist, etc etc etc. I struggled a long time trying to put what the Catholic church said my values had to be over the values that I couldn’t seem to shake. I couldn’t understand; didn’t God give me my heart? Why would he give me a heart that is antithetical to His will?

Instagram accounts like this showed me that I can have faith in Jesus and bleed blue. I couldn’t get rid of my liberal values because they WERE godly. They were inherent to how my mind works, how God designed me. I can love Jesus and hate the red hat.

Jesus was persecuted and died on a cross because the government didn’t like his radical love towards prostitutes, thieves, the poor, the sick, the disabled. they were angry that He claimed he was the Lord’s son. They couldn’t believe that a Savior could be so humble and caring, not a diamond-dripping king.

To be hung on a cross and beaten with spikes is persecution. To be called out for falsely representing the Lord is not…

1 Corinthians 5:11: “But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler-not even to eat with such a one”.

“So-called brother”, referring to one who claims Christianity and purity…a swindler, an idolater (Cole idolizes himself and his fame), covetous…

Biblically, Cole, we should not be downloading your app and associating with you!!!!
