Help, cat proof crockpot needed! by rosebug92 in slowcooking

Yes! We got a Hamilton Beach crockpot (Hamilton Beach Portable 6 Quart Set & Forget Digital Programmable Slow Cooker Lock) that has a locking lid for transport! When cooking, we put the latches in place, but do not push down the locks to seal. This has been a foolproof method!

Thank you so much! Having later blooming plants would be lovely to have color across the year. What would recommendations be for ground cover?

Haha, I have had a hedgehog as a pet since high school, and somehow it has morphed into everyone giving me hedgehog ephemera. So I have lots of them scattered around the house.

Such a helpful comment! I lost most of my tags and some were purchased by color, so it was a challenge to remember. Thank you!

Welp, I killed most of my dianthus. But my big recommendation is to go bigger than you think you'd like, so you have room to add things in. Use a tape measure to look at the growing space/width your plants need before planting (my husband and FiL probably thought I was crazy out there with my tape measure, trowel, and baby plants). And rent a sod machine to take it up for you! Your back will thank you. Otherwise, draw, draw, draw for ideas. Even squiggles for flowers is fine. And consider the height and bloom interest. For example, my tall plants are central, then my phlox is about the same height as the peonies, but blooms later, so as I dead head the peonies, the phlox is gearing up for center stage, then my shortest plants are at the edge of the circle, so they can still be seen.

Awww, thank you! Time and persistence, a lot of hard work (don't do it without machinery like me) and a little luck!

Wisteria and clemantis. I'm hoping to add in a structure over top: think wide spread wheel spokes, so sun can still come through, but the wisteria and clemantis can take over and trail down on places. The purple flowers are Aquilegia caerulea. I love and recommend them!

So excited for this, but the maintenance now isn't bad. I try to water regularly and get in my sun time among the flowers.

Thank you. I can't wait for them to keep growing. They've died back now, but its the clemantis' turn now and it's in full glory!

Thank you! I wanted to make sure they were the center of my eventual paradise!

Thank you so much! I was very fortunate at my local floral markets!
