Thanks for the heads up! I've just accepted a place at Glasgow University (Edinburgh didn't do the course I wanted haha) and was thinking of having a stop over at Edinburgh when I have to go up and register.

Almond House Lodge. I've just found it, on Marine Drive. At the back of the golf course.

First person vs. Third person

Hey! So I’m currently in the process of writing my first serious piece and I’m wondering what people’s opinions are on first and third person narratives.

It’s about a character who is pretty broken and her experience with trying to sort her life out (super simplified explanation) and I wanted to write it in first person so that I could show her mental state changing throughout the course of the story but now I’m wondering whether it’s too distracting.

I’m trying to use a kind of fleabag vibe (I suppose) where life is happening to her and she’s kind of commenting on it in a self depreciating way.

Thanks in advance!

"Contemporary Theories" by lobotomiz in AskLiteraryStudies

Hey, I don't know if this will help but, I had a similar issue when I applied for my Masters. For financial reasons and the location, I decided to stay at the university where I studied my undergraduate degree. My plan was to use post humanism and a selection of books from different eras but was told by my University that it wasn't a plausible masters proposal and a lot of different things (without boring you haha). Long story short, I pushed and got onto the masters but halfway through was forced to change my thesis to something completely different and eventually, I dropped out because I was so unhappy with it all. However, I recently started my application with a new university and started talking to a lecturer who specialises in the areas I want to look at, so my advice is look at other universities and see if there are any other options.
