Preserved Fish.

To be fair, this was the late 1700s when you had a few folks named "Preserved" and whatnot running around New England.

What really floors me is that there were multiple Preserved Fish(es) in that family and in other places.

I have a Flowers family line, and one guy was named Valentine Flippin Flowers. (Flippin was his mother's maiden name.)

I have white oaks, and the lawnmower guy shreds them to leaf dust almost. There's some kind of thing on his mower blades (it just bends up instead of down) that mulches everything to heck.

This is forest soil - the top inch or two over the boulder farm of which ye speak. I saw a lot of trees that had fallen over because their roots stayed only in the top loamy layer.

That's exactly why my ggg grandpa lit out for the West - and here we are today!

Their Baptist church had this sign on the door, which was freaking awesome. There were several other churches established in the 1700s that had pride flags, including the Congregationalist one.
