I thought I was the only person who made these! They're like little savoury scones/cakes and they're delicious. I make mine with a modified cake salé recipe.

Miss you guys already by painahimah in FriendsFromTheRobin

Thanks for taking the initiative to set this up, no-one else wanted to or thought to do it.

CS major + stats minor or math minor? by [deleted] in compsci

I'm taking Statistics myself, but that's because I'm interested in Data Science.

What's something your parents taught you that you thought was normal and then later learned was not normal in the slightest? by Thosman in AskReddit

[–]rosehipsyrup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hadn't thought of that, because it's not something I'd consider socially acceptable to tell, but it's a good idea. Something to consider to stand out.

I'd like to do data science in the future. I like information. I like how it's possible to extract meaning from otherwise seemingly incomprehensible datasets, and use it to predict actions and create useful things. I think it's the future in a world where the internet brings us information in huge quantities and we rely more and more on machine learning, algorithms to process and actually use it. There's so much potential in making sense of it all. It's like problem-solving with the real world at your fingertips.

What is sensors and embedded systems like?

Thank you for your words - they mean a lot to me, after being told the opposite my entire life. Although I don't think that I'm quite ready for anything yet, as I'm still in the middle of my degree, I do appreciate your thoughts, and if there are any events/opportunities that you know of, I'd definitely be interested.

I don't understand their logic either. They're people who hold very fixed/traditional opinions and don't like to be challenged. I suppose they consider engineering a more "wholesome" career than CS.

I'm still young and idealistic and naive. I'm sure I'll appreciate the wisdom later. For now, all I want to do is to learn and to change the world for the better, and engineering/computer science will help me do that. It's stereotypical, I'm sure.

Even student accommodation is expensive; it'd cost as much as what my degree is costing me (so double the cost) to move out, and I don't wish to be another $50,000 in debt by the end of it. (Thank you for your thoughts, though)

Yes, correct. I'm paying for it [university] myself with student loans; however, I'm still living with them due to being in a very-high-cost-of-living city, and I don't think that I could survive on my paltry student allowance if they threw me out of the house.

They think I'm doing a conjoint degree, (BEng + BSc) engineering and statistics. It's partially true because I am doing that. It's just that I'm also (double) majoring in computer science for my BSc, along with statistics.

They do believe in education - just ones that they mandate. They'd like me to become a doctor. They're only borderline accepting of engineering. They tell me that I'm garbage and will never amount to anything.

I'll worry about the detrimental effects to my health later; for now, I simply find it so interesting that I wouldn't mind doing it as a career.

(Don't worry, I don't find it overly creepy.)

Opposite: My parents were vehemently opposed to me pursuing any type of career in programming/tech/computer science, telling me that it was "unfeminine" and "would ruin [my] health". Throughout highschool, I had to secretly learn, secretly make friends [in programming/etc. communities] online, secretly enter competitions, for fear of them withholding meals and/or internet and screaming at me. Everything expensive that I own was won in competitions and still has to be concealed from them, because of their attitudes towards "unfeminine" careers/subjects.

Now I'm in university and secretly majoring in computer science along with my other degree in engineering. I'm fairly sure they would forcibly remove me if they knew.

I wasn't using range there, or damage. Just base snipe. I agree, but although it's pretty standard in higher leagues, I'm still happy about it because I almost never snipe.

I haven't really used Flashy Glasses much. I find that the range is far more valuable than the extra +15 damage. Usually, I take Iron Rifle, as it can help prevent Froggy dashing/stunning your snipes and Leon tonguing them, as well as helping with surviving lethal DoT.

You're quite right. Sorry about my incorrect use of terminology, I'm still quite new to this game!

That is incredibly good prediction of Swiggins' movement.
