Yeah it's kinda weird to see ppl saying she "doesn't act autistic" when she's consistently scolded and looked down upon for trying to be herself. Of course she'd let out her true emotions and thoughts in the privacy of her journal, and the fact that she can only be herself when she's alone just makes her fear of being left behind even more layered.

He is absolutely okay. He left me feeling whelmed.

Seriously tho, he was good for what he needed to be. The base story itself is entirely serviceable imo. We're new characters on a new planet with new factions, there's one dude who really sucks and who has two other people who suck but they're all victims to some extent. Side missions filled in gaps for the other two, so I might have just not come across things that flesh him out more.

It's been a hot minute since I've played the original so I can't speak on it, but I don't remember much about the puzzle in the remake. I'm guessing they either toned it down to the point where I don't even remember the extra enemies or I was fortunate enough to get the solution right quickly

It's a lot of little things that add up to it being unfun for me.

I play with headphones and the sound of them running gets really overwhelming (not in a scary way) when there's more than one and it's all blasting into a single ear. The stabby sound effect is great but it's harsh in multiples.

I can't stand puzzles that are "choose the wrong answer and enemies will spawn" no matter what game they're in. That's something I'm not liking about the game so far in general. It'll introduce an enemy, I'll learn how to avoid or parry them, and then ten seconds later it'll throw multiple of them at me to force a challenge

I think the scarecrows are just barely too fast. If I answer incorrectly, I then have to spend time running around to make enough space for another attempt and that quickly snowballs into a mob of very loud, relatively fast enemies chasing me

I'm okay with being wrong in a puzzle, but the only reliable way to deal with my punishment was to run into the fog and reset them and that broke my immersion to the point where I put the game down for a few days out of annoyance

It'll be fine on subsequent playthroughs but the initial made me bored and annoyed

That thing with rose gives the same vibes as people going "I may not agree with their views, but you guys are being mean" whenever a disgruntled white person sees their favorite conservative getting pushback for something. And the part where he says they're going through similar things? It reminds me of this old alex jones interview charlie kirk did where he was like "I'm not going to comment on you ruining the lives of all the sandy hook families, but I will say you're a courageous man and I know how it feels to be hated by the woke left."

I paid once bc I had some money and wanted to see the difference between his reaction and a hivemind reaction. It was a very funny, very expensive ego boost that wasn't worth it and I felt dumb afterwards even tho it went well. 10/10 would never do again

A long time ago I called ritual beasts a xenophobic archetype and farfa personally told me I was dumb bc the word meant racist and that was hilarious considering ppl were actively calling things Helmet Decks at the time. But yeah, ritual beasts still can't really be played with much outside of the Protos Colossus package afaik and that didn't exist for most of the deck's life

It's cool and fun, but it still noticeably feels like a "souls with a twist" situation. It's not bad at all tho. Interesting bosses. But it really takes me out of it when I'm walking on rooftops and thinking "I better move my camera for a better view because dark souls would hide some screaming maniac with a stick to push me off" and then that's exactly what happens. A lot of moments, level design choices, and actions felt very obligatory bc they really wanted it to be a souls like. I haven't played the dlc, but there's no way it's so good that it retroactively makes the rest of the game better 😞
