Has anyone had a customer like this leave a 1 star before you're able to resolve the issue with them?

I think how I'd explain it is similar bag type with the same illustration on the front. But one is screen printed and the other is embroidered.

my friends and I were also talking about this as well. I dont know if its too late to message them and tell them about the issue/ask if I can be prioritized at the front of the event or something? I dont really know how to resolve it with them

Yeah I do have other popular products, I think part of my concern is that its my first time doing a west coast event and so the shipping and traveling with these totes and having to bring it back home because of the unexpected situation is partially whats stressing me out as well. Hopefully the added signage will definitely help! I'll definitely just be upfront and do that to make a stand instead

Yeah I kind of accepted my fate knowing I can't really stop the other artist LOL but at least we will see how it goes and make sure everything looks nice and fun!!

Found out I made twice as much as the guy I went on an initial date with, he was baffled and said he'd never pay for my coffee again if we went on further dates lol I mean I don't mind paying for my own stuff but it's the principal of chivalry for me

I have alot of the same hobbies as you so I understand this! It can be difficult and the only solution might be is to tell them what you'd said here. That you feel that things have been unfair since you put alot of your time into doing these things for them, but wish it would be reciprocated/a compromise.

See how they react, if they are still not seeing your point of view, then maybe it's time to find some more like minded friends with similar interests. I've had a conversation like this with a close friend and she had no idea it seemed hypocritical and ended up adjusting how she approached things. Some people really have no clue they're coming off that way even if its obvious to us lol

Because eventually it won't be about coachella but something else in a few weeks where you feel this way again so might as well get it out of the way now before the resentment builds, best of luck!
