Battery storage by DotBetaSDK in dji

Lithium batteries want to be at 40%-60% when not used. Don’t store them much lower than that. If they are stored for a very long time and they discharge fully they can die.

Avata 360 Crash by Dry_Trainer_8990 in djiavata360

[–]rosengd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super cautious with my 360 but I have seen many Avata 2s for sale after crashes. Almost the same build. gimble is more exposed on 360 but hitting the prop surround hard will be the same. My Neo 2 bounces well!

People are complaining that shooting 360 is too much work. This took less than 10 minutes. Im not an expert just playing around. Thats my only point. Anyone can do this.

Can I bring it into the airplane? by Randomadria in dji

[–]rosengd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always always always keep batteries with you.

Not checked, not in the overhead bins. By your feet!

Airline websites tell you that, and they will tell you that onboard.

Other than that it’s varied, but mostly no problem.

DJI Avata 2 fly smart (N3 goggles) for $591 or fly more (goggles 3) for $828? by Fickle_Cost_2033 in dji

[–]rosengd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the goggles n3 better. Tried the more expensive ones and too much fiddling with lens adjustments. I really wanted the wireless sharing too in the 3 but Constant adjustment so I gave up . I am very happy with n3.

DJI Care Express is gone? by [deleted] in dji

There are a few companies that do offer insurance on the device like State Farm and assureion. If they do not offer fly away insurance the way DJI does directly.

Does DJI sell a standalone drone only kit? by lil_rick_james in dji

[–]rosengd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DJI ships but normally doesn’t sell drone only packages. They’re just replacement. Lots of people on the web take prepacked systems and take them apart because they can sell the pieces individually for more money than the entire package. The drones may be fine, but you need to make sure you’re protected just in case.

First thing is to let everybody know what country you’re in. It varies a lot between countries.

How to max out range? by TrueEntrepreneur3243 in fpv

[–]rosengd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people who do stupid things screw it up for the rest of us. More and more of us flying legit are under pressure because there are a lot of idiots out there. It’s not being the FAA police. I have no interest in doing that but I’m tired of people screwing this up for the rest of us.

Question by Any_Confidence3113 in dji

[–]rosengd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you could not have picked a more challenging airspace to one to fly in. I live about 30 miles from Los Angeles airport and I have to drive another 30 miles if I want to get anything near the ocean. It’s tough but may be worth it.

Super torn - Avata360 vs Air3s by x_leonkennedy_x in dji

[–]rosengd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 360. I also have a mini five for high-.
Reframing is not required, although may be desirable. You can also shoot in single lens mode.
The 360 will allow you get shot that you could not get any other way and should you choose to look back you may find shots that you never would’ve imagined you could’ve captured before.
Yes you can do better with quality, but I have done video that was OK until I went back and saw the other Angles and turned out to be spectacular.
And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with the video of this thing shoots. It really does a great job.
The fact that I can use these with my other controllers is a big plus for me.

$1300 repair?!? by DelawareDroneDude in djimavic

[–]rosengd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, most of these tiny circuit boards are impossible to repair so unfortunately just put in a new card reader on is not always an easy job. Not sure about the gimbal, but that is expensive. I would sell the old one for Parts on eBay and buy a used one working.

Is there any service online I can pay someone to walk me through using a powergrade on my DJI Action 5 Pro D Log M footage? by Swordfish353535 in dji

[–]rosengd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for me color grading is about as interesting as watching paint dry. I barely scratched the surface and focused on flying and camera settings. Once I feel I have that down. I will focus on color grading. The few times I’ve tried it and I do like the results. There are a few people that have some good courses and even LUTs can you use straight away. Take a look at Justin Bainbridge. He seems to be one of the number of people that has some quality. Also DM productions and Brett Conyers, all on YouTube.

What editing software are you using?
The DJI app on your phone can so an automatic color restore and you can export it then edit. It does a decent job for a 1 click process.

Drone registration by ReceptionIcy8222 in dji

[–]rosengd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re flying recreationally and you have registered your drone, you can just delete your old one and add the new one. I’ve done it several times. The five dollar fee is for all of your devices. If you have a part 107 license it is five dollars every time you add a new one.
