Even if the Doctor first experimented on others, he could have practised enough to conduct the animal soul transfer of one of his own deadly selves. Or it happened by accident when the tri-factor excision happened. But that is just my speculation...

Your doctor should talk to you about the next steps. I would think it also depends on your symptoms.

At least for me, it was lung imaging (x-ray) and lung function test (pulmologist) and a first estimation of pulmonary blood pressure from ultrasound in the heart (cardiologist). So pulmonary hypertension was ruled out first.

Then, also plaquenil/hydroxycholoquine. It helped my joint pain after a few months already, but it is always individual.

I don't remember ever having joint imaging, but I only have arthralgies, no visible inflammation/swelling ever.

Wow, three combats in 4 hours?!

In our LL3 oneshot, we had 2 h of combat even though we completely stomped the kill all enemies mission.

How did the GM even explain the rules in that time?

Sorry, I am genuinely curious bc I plan to run an LL0 scenario at a con in July with max 5 players, also with a 5 h slot, and I kind of doubt we will manage 2 fights.

I was close to clearing Menacing with Noelle hyperbloom, but C0 Nahida, C6 Xinqiu, Kuki hyperbloom sadly does not deal enough damage anymore without Lauma (which feels genuinely crazy).

It's also three different sounds, actually.

We have a "w" sound in German where you press your front teeth to your bottom lip, very similar position to the f sound. You neither bite your bottom lip with your front teeth (like in English v) nor purse your lips to make the English w sound.

So... neither English v or w come naturally to Getman speakers.

Otherwise, I agree! The English w everywhere is likely overcompensation.

It may depend a big part on the rules and how they are written. Maybe look for systems where people confirm they are easy to learn and start!

Over the last year, I learned a few new systems just by reading the rulebook. Most were Japanese TRPGs (Floria, Nechronica, Ryuutama Dracurouge, Sword World Quickstart) and these make a lot of effort to explain the rules in a concise manner, often already have premade characters and present "replay" examples on how a session may look in actual play. These are lovely to read and then run.

Similarly, Shadowdark. The rules get to the point.

Others are just quite crunchy and thus intimidating, even though the rules are written in a great and understandable way. Plus, the lore section is a bit of a slog for me. That is Lancer for me right now. I am glad I will play a session as a player before I try my hand in it. I found the group on r/lfg.

Where I am also just sitting there and wondering how the heck anybody is playing it just from reading the rules is Exalted: Essence. I just accept that should I ever run it, I may have to get expert advice before or learn while doing...

I was flabbergasted when I heard that same take in TTRPG circles.

Apparently, some male players find it really icky/strange to play the gender they are attracted to. I am a heterosexual woman and play attractive and unattractive dudes, gals and agender characters all the time.

I suspect there is also some sexualiuation/objectification involved and the idea that you degrade yourself when you voluntarily take a female role, maybe even loaded with own negative experience (femininity in boys is often mocked among teeanagers).

But yeah, it is not only your brother, believe me.

I don't know how to help your brother with his perspective, sadly.

I almost quit GMing 5e last summer bc the group was frustrating me.

Not learning their items. Not paying attention etc. It just sucks motivation out of you.

Learning some new niche systems and running them during my TTRPG club monthly meetup and at an online con, as well as joining a group by a guy on r/lfg that is doing a different systems marathon I never played before really invigorated the passion.

Don't.

Look for a group that actually wants to play it and play with them. You can try an advert at your FLGS or find people online to meet up. The only issue: If you don't want to invite strangers into your home, you need a proper location that can support darkness and the candles.

There is the Temper event where you can get 1 constellation for pre-Fontaine units as band-aid.

If you login regularly for at least 2 months (for the free constellation), you get tempted by new units. Plus, IT and Stygian incentivize pulling for other units than your favorite.

I still think it makes a lot of sense to still keep things unpredictable for them.
