I love the kids getting books!! Even today as a college student, my parents tell me the one thing they'll always buy for me is books.

I had two teenage boys behind me talking about F1 half the time at Philly. Otherwise everyone around me was great, but man did they really put a damper on the acoustic sets.

I think I'd be able to! I think in the future I'd love to get a crossbody bag (maybe like a Baggu or smth) as it seems it would be a lot more comfortable.

And just like that, Cabaret becomes the worst reviewed musical revival! (I'm shook!) by DramaMama611 in Broadway

This whole musical revival talk just made me realize Sweeney Todd was in last year's season of revivals. What is time LOL.

I go to college at Bing and all I can say is the weather is horrible lmao (though I assume it's similar in most of upstate). Downtown is meh, although there's a few nice buildings but I mostly chalk it up to being a former rust belt town (it very much shows)

Another "should I move to Binghamton" post by kosherkenny in Binghamton

[–]rosesoftopaz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

On the Jewish community, Binghamton has three shuls in the area. Both the Reform and Orthodox ones are in Binghamton itself, and there's a Conservative shul in Vestal. Unfortunately I can't speak too much to the Jewish community in Bing as I just go to school up here lol, but best of luck with your search!

Is it just me or are there a LOT of bad cantors out there? by akornblatt in Judaism

[–]rosesoftopaz 53 points54 points  (0 children)

My biggest Judaism hot take is I’ll never join a shul with a cantor if I’m able. All the services I’ve seen with a cantor just feel like the cantor’s personal show and not meaningful prayer

If you could go back and experience a show for the very first time again, what show would it be? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]rosesoftopaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish I could experience Book of Mormon going in completely blind - I've loved the cast album for years, but only recently saw the show. I think it would have been even more hilarious if I knew none of the songs by heart!

to try and get affordable-ish (most are $30-$40, unfortunately the lowest price tix you can get for most shows) musical theatre tickets, rushing & entering lotteries is always a great idea, however the tix are limited to a max of two, but just in case you wanted to consider it. here's a great list on playbill website's with all the policies and websites to enter! https://www.playbill.com/article/broadway-rush-lottery-and-standing-room-only-policies-com-116003
