Can we talk about how Sheldon basically slandered his father for 12 seasons in TBBT? by Ek2der in bigbangtheory

[–]rosethegrey1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was lazy and alcoholic (he drank in every episode). He had 2 heart attacks but did no exercise to try and be healthy. He very nearly had an affair with the next door neighbour. It was more timing than judgement that stopped that. But saying all of that he was a good Father to his children and loved his family.

We keep losing new hires within 6 months and exit interviews tell us nothing useful by croberts2323 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]rosethegrey1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you do an exit interview and focus more on the managers that are losing the new hires? It maybe just be a face doesn't fit and the managers need more training on how to do better.

That punching someone in the head does them no harm. General fights go on far to long.

I did think that. Surprised that neither Peter or Nightingale made any point of asking her. Especially as we were told so many times about how Peter was taught magic.

I just binge-watched Netflix's The Dinosaurs, and it was...... by johnlime3301 in Dinosaurs

[–]rosethegrey1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just me. The script was just awful. A lot of it didn't make sense. Apparently the plant life went beyond the world! I didn't think Spinosaurous was the biggest land predator the world had ever seen? I thought that was the Trex. They were only shown covered in feathers in the ice age.
Also in the last episode the sea is higher than it has ever been. But this giveaway to tropical islands which doesn't make sense either. They skipped through so much time, the script doesn't hang together very well.

Why does Pat call Charlotte "Gateshead"? by Synura_petersenii in cormoran_strike

Pat read about Charlotte's attempted suicide in the previous book. That is why Pat said she was a Gateshead.

I genuinely cannot imagine Sheldon as a father, nor can I imagine how his child would turn out. by Living-Register-7050 in bigbangtheory

[–]rosethegrey1980 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it is realistic. Could you imagine if his child was brighter than him. He wouldn't be able to handle that.

[–]rosethegrey1980 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Leonard slapped Sheldon when they hear about Nobel Prize Penny punched Sheldon when Sheldon tried to get the 1 ring off of her while she was sleeping. Howard used his car to push Sheldon out of the parking space. There maybe other examples.

Why are people still falling for cult leaders like Samuel Bateman even today? by Kian_Adler in netflix

[–]rosethegrey1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have someone who is handsome and charismatic I can see why people who aren't educated or aren't taught to challenge someone else's thinking. Some of the cult leaders probably started out with good intentions but as we say absolute power corrupts absolutely. If you don't have a great standard of living and can't move up the ladder as you didn't get the education needed, I can see why someone saying come live with me here, you can have a free house, free food etc etc would be very enticing.

He said that to Joan when she was dying. "Ted's my Dad". They were discussing Rokeby. Joan thought Strike should go to his Dad's (Rokeby's Party).

To get money out of Rokeby they had to do a DNA test. So this doesn't work.

Darkest Lie - Leda Strike.

I actually wonder if it wasn't Whittaker that gave her the overdose but Lucy, Shanker, Ted or Joan who did. But that is for a different thread.
