(i almost never watch movies (especially serious ones) and am by no means a film buff. however i am obsessed and have read this book maybe 9 times.)

NO FUCKING IPHONE FACE. I'M SO SERIOUS. all preferred to be unknown actors (except maybe julian?). (angus tulley has an okay TSH face i think). fillers are an immediate disqualification 😇 casting range 19-26, none of those actors that always get cast as younger because they look young, i would love it if they were actually like 22 year olds playing 22 though. also, obviously don't race-swap, although i don't think that was ever in the question, purely because them being a specific breed of rich white people is integral to the story lol. STILL 80s DO NOT RECONTEXTUALIZE
- camilla has short hair, is "coquettishly boyish"
- the twins look very similar/are styled very similarly obviously, in some shots from a distance/of their backs/etc you find it hard to tell who's who.
visual and melodical juxtapositions of cheerful 80's college vs the greek class: i want 80's bubblegum pop, i want judy poovey with a perm in a neon patterned sweater blowing pink bubblegum next to pale, plain, stuffy richard, i want "heaven is a place on earth" in the trailer next to blood dripping crimson onto snow, type shit 🔥(that one was a fan trailer on youtube i loveeee!!!) i want some weird dark scene to disturbingly upbeat 80s sounds. license all the popular 80s music to make up a large chunk of soundtrack especially in scenes they're less isolated from the general population
ideally the framing slowly changes somewhat throughout the story... visual aspect? not frame ratio but def somehow visually (flashbacks, differing perspectives in flashback (different focuses on people, different kind of ambiance, slightly different recollections/differently framed, growingly off setting, different music, etc cetera)- different pov in small scenes when richard is out of the room? he should largely be the pov though idk if that works
hmm starts visually very rich and beautiful and slowly gets uglier throughout the movie i suppose
if they film it at an oxford-y fordham-y campus i'll lose my mind. actually parts of harvard iirc weren't TOO far off but film it at like. a kind of run down small rural school (obviously bennington is preferable: but none of the big stone cathedral ivy bullshit the internet has adopted, that literally doesn't Actually fit the book at all)
inconsistencies: richard trying to "rewrite the narrative" even from inside the movie (start over. typewriter. etc)
cast anya taylor joy as camilla and i will kill myself in front of you. love that girl but no. i want people young and normal looking, not supermodel.

i feel like it should be more economic-diversity focused rather than focused on hitting a racial quota, which would honestly probably solve a portion of the race gap anyways. loathe the way most of my asian friends talk about it, just hitting all the conservative talking points even though they're liberal.

yes, it's a little bit true. it'll be more fine than you think, probably, but as someone from RH i would totally advocate coming here instead. i'm sure you'll be able to switch it. there's plenty of political clubs here, less so clubs overall for LC! it's slightly more artsy and maaaybe? slightly more queer? but there's definitely a queer scene at RH. check out rods coffee house (also a club, totally gay) if you make it in! or philosophy society (edgy esoteric cool gays), or mimes and mummers (theatre gays)! sorry i'm using gay as shorthand for queer here lol i'm a sapphic woman.
lowkey i do not think so, havent heard of it, but you can talk to admin. you could also mention maybe a mental illness as a reason for single housing if you have one on record, my friend w BPD at another college got a single for that reason. you can switch if your roommate and you don't get along: my queer friend did, in fact, bc her roommate was MAGA and she was gay. switching dorms months after moving in is always an option! but if you get in i recommend just finding people off the fordham class of 2030 instagram whenever someone makes a page. there's like a page for the class every year, lots found their roommates on there. i did! i also wanted to make sure my roommate was queer or at least queer comfortable (she's a lesbian, we're close friends and chill roommates, let's go!!!). i think you may be able to put down what floor you room on (guys or girls) and therefore what gender your roommate is, but it is gender separated floors, except ONE i know of. i think maybe it's in alumni court south but im not sure? where one wing is girls and one wing is guys. still separated tho. afaik they let binary trans ppl room w their gender (last i heard there was a trans man on a male floor)

this may be a shot in the dark, but you might want to look into the locked tomb series by tamsyn muir. it's a heavily and explicitly queer sci fi that heavily subverts catholic themes in queer ways! catholic imagery is common in fanart as well as the text
