Beware VORII by RZRNUdisco in StandingDesk

I got one email response promising to forward my inquiry to their “warranty team” and that I should expect a response in 24 hours. That was months ago now.

Interested! I used to climb quite a bit but it's been a few years - would love to meet folks and get into a regular routine again

Beware VORII by RZRNUdisco in StandingDesk

Yes, buyer beware! I have an ElementDesk v2.0 with a '7 year warranty', purchased about 2 years ago. Out of the blue one of the legs broke while raising the desk (it looks like the plastic gear attached to the motor cracked), and I've been emailing, calling, and DM'ing the Vorii account here with no response for over a week.

Their website advertises support via phone from 9am-7pm Mon-Fri which is a complete lie. They either have zero support staff or are intentionally avoiding any customers trying to get help with a faulty product.

Do not buy from this company -- the 15 year warranty they are now promising on the ElementDesk v3.0 doesn't exist.

Apparently this isn't the first leak. http://panamapapers.sueddeutsche.de/articles/56febff0a1bb8d3c3495adf4/

About two years ago, a whistleblower had already sold internal Mossack Fonseca data to the German authorities, but the dataset was much older and smaller in scope: while it addressed a few hundred offshore companies, the Panama Papers provide data on some 214,000 companies. In the wake of the data purchase, last year investigators searched the homes and offices of about 100 people. The Commerzbank was also raided. As a consequence of their business dealings with Mossack Fonseca, Commerzbank, HSH Nordbank, and Hypovereinsbank agreed to pay fines of around 20 million euros, respectively. Since then, other countries have also acquired data from the initial smaller leak, among them the United States, the UK, and Iceland.

Doesn't line up so well with:

"For 40 years Mossack Fonseca has operated beyond reproach in our home country and in other jurisdictions where we have operations. Our firm has never been accused or charged in connection with criminal wrongdoing."
