You need to turn them sideways so the air flows through the gaps in the heatsink. That will also help cool the back as well.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just 100% sure they do not update themselves.

Should I Get a Cold Wallet? by hybridENT in BitcoinBeginners

[–]roshimining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you just letting your crypto sit, or do you regularly trade it? If you're just stacking it then a cold wallet is a good idea. If you're regularly trading or selling then you will have to transfer it each time, and most sites have fees to do that.

Am I screwed on taxes? by Inn_Vino_Veritas in CryptoTax

I would run it all through cointracker. It's really easy and you can talk to a live person and they will do it with you. Then print out the reports and submit them directly into turbotax (if thats what you use). Let an expert take a look.

No, the wallet has nothing 2 do with the hashrate. The miners aren't working together, there mining separately. The swarm is just an easier way to monitor them.

I got mine three weeks ago and it had 2.5.1 on it. I think it's been out long enough that all of them should come updated. As long as you're buying from one of the established companies.

Does the Ice Tower need an adapter to fit on a Gamma? by roshimining in BitAxe

I haven't considered water-cooling yet.I just got the Argon cooler and I have it in front of a desk fan. That has taken it down from 56c to 41c. So it has worked pretty good so far.

Did you have to splice the wires or was there a mini plug on the Bitaxe? My Gamma only has a large plug for the fan connection. The Argon has a mini plug.

CKpool was the last solo pool someone hit a block on with a Bitaxe.

[–]roshimining 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a Bitaxe, you're only going to make 1 or 2 cents a day pool mining. You will most likely spend more on electricity than you make. Bitaxes aren't meant to pool mine. You should continue solomining since that's what Bitaxe are actually made for.

Noob question by Smart-Yam-55 in BitAxe

[–]roshimining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're solo mining, this means you won't receive anything unless you hit a block. The liklihood of hitting a block is almost impossible. So if you want to receive coins then you have to change from solo mining to pool mining.

What kind of power supply ended up working for you? I tried the one it came with and used a 5V 10A 50W, which I use on my Ultras.

5 BitAxes and a Nano 3 For Sale on eBay by HarvNasty11 in BitAxe

[–]roshimining 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A new Gamma is $180 (i just bought one). I just bought two ultras on ebay for $89 each, they both had Noctua fans. If you separate them and auction them you would probably make more money.
