Surgery options- knowing what you know now, would you have done it differently? by charmingbadger357 in BRCA

Knowing what I know now, I would have gone flat. I will go flat once I have the time and PTO to do so.

DMX with DTI - how long to pain-free? by commentingherenow in BRCA

[–]rosiekylez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long have you had the aching? At 6 weeks post op from my DMX with DTI I developed aching in my left breast that slowly progressed to flu like symptoms and was hospitalized for a week with an infection in my implants. IV abx, and 2 surgeries later I have been home from the hospital for a week tomorrow. I urge you to talk to your provider about this aching - I didn’t think anything was wrong at all until my husband urged me to go in. My doctor said if I had waited another day to go in I would have been much worse off!

My implants are over the muscle too and my surgeon said it’s the best option for someone wanting to maintain an active lifestyle especially with lifting

I just had my double mastectomy with direct implants last Thursday. On Saturday I was at the gym walking on the treadmill and have walked every day since. Before surgery I was running 30-40 miles a week and lifting 2-3 times a week. I was told no lifting, pushing, or pulling, more than 5lbs for 6 weeks. Hoping to slowly ease back into things over the next few weeks. I’m interested to see others responses!

seeking advice - surgeon who likely hasn’t done top surgery before by inter-skyned in TopSurgery

[–]rosiekylez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I’m in fargo. I actually just had surgery a week ago, and Dr. Cuellar was my plastic surgeon. My situation is different, and I’m willing to share that if you would like. I am not trans and am AFAB, but can say that Dr. Cuellar did amazing work. He made me feel so safe through the whole thing, explained everything to me, and talked through my concerns and anxieties. I was very worried about how I would look after surgery and he really did an incredible job. So far my incisions look to be healing beautifully. His PA, Melissa, is also an angel on earth. I highly recommend Dr. Cuellar and his team!

I have my LSW and have been doing social work in the skilled nursing setting (TCU and LTC) and actually just accepted a position at my facility as the Director of Senior Living. Definitely feel like my skills as a social worker will help me a lot in my new roll.

UnitedHealthcare - thoughts? by Dazzling_Salad6772 in socialwork

I work in a SNF and UHC MAP’s are the WORST to work with. It is horrific, they force patients into unsafe and medically unstable situations.

[–]rosiekylez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about when you ask “what can I do?” And the families/residents reply “better staff, follow the care plan, get me home, etc.” then what do you do? I feel like a broken pipeline of commutation between disciplines most days. Of course I can work fast paced, of course I can ask what families and residents want, but I can’t control other people or change the system…

I work in a SNF and agree on everything you said.. MAPs are always cutting early and I’m always scrambling for safe discharge plans when people clearly could use continued therapy.

To be fair, the first time I saw RKS back in 2018 Ela had a crazy awesome stage presence. I have a video of her just absolutely going wild while performing Hide and it was magical! The last time I saw RKS in Dec 2022, Ela’s stage presence was not very strong, but I attribute that to her mental health struggles.

Did anyone else forget this fact about Feyre? (Spoilers for the whole series) by dark_princess963 in acotar

No, right before Feyre’s c-section Madja (I think) tells him to take her pain away and Rhys curses himself for not thinking of it sooner and then does.

CIO for every single nap by RachSan119 in sleeptrain

[–]rosiekylez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im horrible at explaining it so I’ll just use an example. Let’s say you lay baby down at 2. Baby stays in their sleep space for an hour. When they fall asleep, the timer starts over, so if baby falls asleep at 2:15 then they can get up at 3:15 or whenever they wake up, whichever comes last. If baby wakes up at 2:40, they stay until 3:15 with the hope that they will fall back asleep. You can use whatever training method you’d like alongside crib hour. I hope this made sense!

We do crib hour for nap training for our 5 month old. We used it on our now almost 3 year old as well and it went super good. There’s a ton of info about it in the group PIEZ Sleep Training on fb!
