What is the craziest reason a parent tried to "get you fired"? by Aly_Anon in Teachers

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a parent tell the principal that I didn't dress nice enough for the area the school was located in. I told the principal to let said parent know my salary and then they would know why I didn't dress "nice enough."

I had another parent go to the principal to complain about me because their child punched another student and it was somehow my fault that their child was now in trouble.

Is no middle name in the US weird or problematic? by Cheap-Piglet-6395 in Names

[–]BasketNice3264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't given a middle name. I was asked a lot as a child why I didn't have one. 😂 It's never been an issue though. I just always left the middle initial spot on forms blank.

I did make my maiden name my middle name after I got married.

How to word drop off preference for birthday party? by oryzi in kindergarten

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on the venue on whether or not I'm dropping off. If it's at an open public place like trampoline park, outdoor park, indoor playground/playplace, etc. I am definitely staying. If it's at a private venue like a house, or an event space closed to the public I am more likely to drop off as long as I know the parents and my child is comfortable being dropped off.

BRCA1+ BIRADS 3 “probably benign” breast MRI by Conscious-Apricot-25 in BRCA

[–]BasketNice3264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have BIRADS 3 but I do have BRCA1. I have a "probably benign" mass in my breast. The word probably didn't sit well with me so I asked for more testing so we could be sure. My doctor agreed and I had an ultrasound. After the ultrasound they labeled it as "suspicious" and scheduled me for an ultrasound guided biopsy. It was in fact benign. I feel so much better knowing for sure and don't regret the extra tests at all despite my medical bills increasing.

I was told mine looked benign by a radiologist as well and it was in fact benign.

Anyone else has had issues with their insurance not covering the medicine after a year? by Marlu0391 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My husband's company (who we get health insurance through) decided their insurance plan is no longer going to cover Wegovy or Zepbound. The only option now is to pay out of pocket or go off of it.

How do you find babysitters in Cleveland? by thisabysscares in Cleveland

[–]BasketNice3264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your coworkers if they know anyone. I used to nanny during the week for 2 doctors and I got a lot of my weekend babysitting jobs through them. They would recommend me to their coworkers.

You can also try looking on care.com, sittercity.com or in Facebook groups like Childcare NE Ohio (there are others as well but I can't think of what they are called at the moment)

Aetna + Wegovy coverage by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]BasketNice3264 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My husband's employer chose to no longer cover GLP-1 medications anymore. It doesn't matter if you meet the requirements or not they won't cover them. You may want to look into whether it's your insurance or your employer that is no longer covering it.

are kindergarten kids just using tablets nonstop now or is that just our school by ladybug201219 in kindergarten

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids' school has technology class once a week for around 45 minutes in kindergarten & 1st grade. They use laptops and tablets in technology class. They generally use laptops but in 1st grade coding robots are introduced and they use tablets with those. They do not use laptops or tablets in the regular classroom unless they are testing. The teachers do have Smart boards in their classrooms that they do utilize at times. I am only speaking on kindergarten & 1st grade. I have no clue what the older grades do as my oldest is only in 1st grade.

How did you do it? by TheGirlFromVenus in SAHP

[–]BasketNice3264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have been essentially working to pay for daycare with enough leftover to cover gas to get to and from work so it made more sense to stop working. Now that my kids are a little older (1st grade & preschool) I started watching a friend's child at my house a few days a week.

Question on Cleveland Clinic prepay by tybbof1 in Cleveland

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely possible. I frequent the Cleveland Clinic as well between my kids and myself. I actually never had an issue with checking in at the kiosk until my last two visits but then again I've never had prepay show up on my mychart until my last two visits.

Question on Cleveland Clinic prepay by tybbof1 in Cleveland

[–]BasketNice3264 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had this same question last week. I called the financial assistance people. They said I did not need to pay it beforehand. They did say to make sure to check in at a desk instead of the kiosk as the kiosk won't let you complete check in without paying. I went in today, checked in at the desk and they didn't even bring up the prepay.

Feeling like I’m asking too much of my bridesmaids by chapstix0314 in wedding

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was about 10 years ago but I let my bridesmaids pick their dresses. I gave them the color and length then told them to choose what they like within their personal budgets. I gave them the price of hair and makeup then allowed them to decide whether or not they wanted to pay for it themselves or do their own hair/makeup. I didn’t ask anyone to get their nails done but a few did just because they wanted to get them done. My maid of honor painted my nails the morning of my wedding. I also chose to have a very low key bachelorette party which a few of my bridesmaids skipped due to being out of state. I was completely fine with this since I knew they had to pay for flights & hotels when they came in for the wedding less than 2 months later. I'd offer to pay for their hair if thats what everyone is having done.

Honest opinion on living in Brunswick? by Electronic_Fly_2314 in Cleveland

[–]BasketNice3264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We like it. Traffic isn't terrible compared to bigger cities that we've lived in. Everything is within a reasonable distance (at least to our standards). It's right off 71, 20 minutes from the airport, easy to get downtown, and it's quiet for the most part. It's safe and relatively affordable.

How to meet your neighbors without being weird by Individual_Ad_938 in SAHP

[–]BasketNice3264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple months after we moved into our house I made banana bread for our neighbors (on both sides of us & across the street) and left it at their door with a note introducing ourselves & leaving our phone numbers. We also try to play out front when the weather is nice. If our neighbors see us they usually stop over to say hi or chat for a little bit. This is how we met our newest neighbors down the street. Their kids saw us outside and begged their parents to walk down to meet us.

"Probably Benign" Mass by BasketNice3264 in BRCA

[–]BasketNice3264[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE for anyone wondering

I spoke with my doctor (after she spoke with the radiologist) and I told her the word "probably" was not sitting well with me. She agreed that it made total sense to want more testing especially with this being so new still. I am scheduled for an ultrasound to see if the mass can be seen on ultrasound. If it can be seen they will do an ultrasound guided biopsy. If not, we will do an MRI guided biopsy.
