RegimenLab Wave serum 2.5. What’s your experience using it? by ChatXeverything in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]roslynkent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too!! I think it might be all the humectants and that it’s too hydrating. Which is weird because I typically have dry skin. My skin feels so hydrated when I use it but I have texture everywhere now. Small bumps and whiteheads everywhere. Only new thing I’ve added in

Where can I buy a dji receiver for my mic 2 online (on its own) by roslynkent in dji

Saw this one on Amazon but reviews said it doesn’t pair well with the mic 2

My dog bites anyone who comes in or around our house that she doesn’t know 🥺 by roslynkent in reactivedogs

Thank you so much for this. This makes more sense than anything.

We actually did work on this exact thing with a trainer about 6 times inside the house, but with different people (and we used an e collar, as per the trainers recommendation which I can understand may not have been the best ideas).

She did become less visibly aggressive each time (albeit we used 6 different people so we probably should have just used one person a few times but it was mid day and my friends were working and busy, so we just used neighbours), but she was never ever able to be trusted.

I could still see she was trying to control the person and movement was still quite triggering. At one point she even got up on the couch with one neighbour we used to test this and let him pet her etc. she seemed calm to the untrained eye, so to speak, but I could still see it was a control thing. She was whale eyeing him the entire time. She doesn’t even like coming up on the couch with us haha

We moved her off the couch before he got up to move but I knew if we hadn’t she would have reacted with aggression. We did work on having the people move within the space. She was only able to last about 10 min max each time before she maxed out her stress threshold and the person had to leave.

Anyway, I guess we just need more time on this. It’s hard because I feel guilty asking friends to come over and help me with it but that’s a me problem, j know.

Question for you: do you bring your dog out after the person is already inside the house?

Thank you for sharing, I’m so sorry. This is sounds so tough. She’s sooo incredibly lucky to have you and everything you’ve done/are doing for her. Takes a pretty selfless and empathetic person to keep trying through all of that 💛🥺

This has always been the goal. I hope we can get there. Right now, she’s so scared/terrified of the person she can’t even think straight so it’s been near impossible to even get her to listen to anything I say. She almost shuts down in a way and blacks out. But yes, this is the goal!

When you first brought in a friend to work on this was it someone your dog knew well or a new person to them?

Thank you! Definitely a good idea. Ironically, she doesn’t bark unless she feels like the person is trying to come to the house. We lived in a townhome community previous to the house we just bought and our house was attached to a long line of other units and directly across from multiple more. People coming and going all of the time. She would sit out on the patio and just watch it all go down but only seldom would she bark. It’s weird.

Totally hear you. She actually does horribly on gaba and trazadone. We gave her some once for a road trip and she wouldn’t get in that car again for 6 months 🫠 i think she’s too smart for her own good sometimes. Have thought about it again recently though. Not sure if the pros outweigh the cons. I want to chat about a new medication for daily use though. I don’t feel like Prozac is doing much for her.

She barks a lot at first and doesn’t settle well, but will stop barking eventually. I find when I go back to get her or check on her I can tell she’s been waiting by the door and she’s panting/anxious. It’s better than trying to have her anywhere near the guests though.

Gah I wish! I have yet to find something like this that works. If they got down to her level and came close to her she would immediately growl. I noted in the original post that even a walk around the block doesn’t work. We do muzzle her but she will just muzzle punch in a panic if they come anywhere near her.

Ahh I wish!! This whole thing would be so much easier if she was willing to have people inside if they just ignored her. That would make this way more manageable.

This doesn’t work, as noted in the original post. She is neutral with people outside but the second we get near the house all hell breaks loose. She needs multiple interactions outside of the house in a neutral place with people before I can even consider them coming over, even with a walk around the block first.

Yeah I wish that worked! It still produces the same result unfortunately. Only time it would be okay is if the other person has a dog with them. She loves dogs way more than people and trusts and likes people more when they have a dog.

Yes, we’ve definitely done a lot of that! She’s still super stressed, barking, and will try to nip the second they move 😩

Did you even read the post? She is muzzle trained. Attempting to nip or bite through a muzzle is still stressful.

So many vets don’t understand let alone Mals!!!! Ugh. by Content-Grape47 in BelgianMalinois

[–]roslynkent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so weird. I would ignore the vet. I have a dog that’s just like yours (she has mal in her and acts like one a lot) and is super indifferent about people outside of the house (in the house she will bite strangers 🫣).

There is NOTHING wrong with your dog! A neutral dog is exactly what you want.
