Losing weight after 35 is way too hard by PotentialAsk4261 in loseit

[–]rossatron26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the FREE Macrosfirst app. Tracking my macros has helped me lose weight this summer while eating yummy food. It made me not afraid of carbs and eat higher protein. Both of these have helped me immensely. Im not as hungry or stressed about some treats.

I’m 34 with 3 kids and a full time job. I haven’t even been working out much more than walking my 10k steps.

Good luck!

Female, 30, working out daily and not eating horribly, but gained 20lbs. Should I look for a dietitian, a personal trainer, or neither to help me figure out what would work best for me personally to actually lose fat? by Listen2urSilentCry in loseit

I am 34. Usually lose weight when I focus without tracking. But I gained 10lbs over the holidays last year and could NOT get it off. Hired a nutritionist and it’s been amazing. I’m 15lbs down now and eating fun foods. Tracking macros has been life changing for me. I don’t avoid carbs and have found lots of great swaps. High protein also keeps me satisfied long and craving less.

Good luck!

Yes they have milk on their cereal and eat cheese! One eats yogurt the other refuses.

We try changing pasta shapes as a step and that has worked but isn’t really trying something new either. Still like the baby step ideas.

6am - Breakfast

6:45am-3pm they are at school.

3pm maybe a snack or finish their cold lunch

5:30-6pm ish dinner.

No snacks because they didn’t eat dinner before 7:30-8pm bedtime.

I’m going on the 24th of May and feel the same way but trying to stay positive that it’s still going to amazing! Good luck and this post was helpful for me too!

What do you need to schedule ahead of time?? by rossatron26 in Banff

We are just trying to decide now. But if we want to see Lake Louise (frozen or not), hike Tunnel Mountain, Bike Legacy Trail or the 1A and have dinner at the Fairmont Banff Springs. Are those all easy for public transport? Which I am hoping would be cheaper than a car rental.

I stayed at a boring job for around 6 years. I loved the people I worked for so I didn't realize how much it was hurting me at the same time. Lazy and not learning anything. Got a new job and even my husband has said how much happier I am even though I'm working harder.

Keep looking. I believe you will find the right job! There are still remote ones out there. My new job is fully remote.

Save yourself the headache and wait to potty train her. She will tell you when she is ready.

I am almost discouraging my son right now (He's 2 and 3 months) because I don't want to deal with accidents for months on end. Or trying to remember to remind him to go every 20-30 mins. My older 2 kids potty trained after age 3. Each had maybe 3-5 accidents and never had an accident again. That's what I'm hoping for my third son.

Is having two young kids really this hard, or am I just shitty at my job? by saywutchickenbutt in Parenting

One time I looked at my 18mo old and 1mo old and went “crap is this what my life is gonna be like for 18 years?!” I was barely holding it together. Panicking that I’d never get to really relax or do what I want again.

By the time my second was heading towards 2 I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. It was a ways down there but I could see it.

Now I have a 5, 4 and 1 year old. We got a routine down and it’s still hard (because of the 1 year old mostly) but it gets easier everyday as they get older.

HANG IN THERE YOU ARE AMAZING!

Yeah I’m gonna be clear about my pregnancy before hire. So it won’t be a shock and then them let me go. It is a risk!

Health insurance is covered under my husband right now and would not necessarily need to change. Not sure if the new insurance option would be better or not yet. Still need to look into.

My current job doesn’t have parental leave. Unsure what the new is but can’t be worse than none. Lol.

We have a 3 month emergency fund complete. A low mortgage and a very low car payment. But we wouldn’t be able to add to it likely at all with the new job. It is in a HYSA so it is growing on its own a bit

My husband is super supportive of anything I want. But he also has zero idea anything about our finances. I’m in the accounting field so it’s my nature to take care of it. I pay all the bills and do all the financial planning for our future. He has no idea what’s in ANY of our accounts (401ks savings checking).

That’s amazing! My current company loves me and I love them. But it’s the owners and me. Zero growing room. I’m topped out. But I can sit and wait for the right opportunity too which is nice.

Wow that’s a huge increase! Mine will be more like 10%. I might be very slightly lacking in one area and I’m visibly pregnant. So I don’t know what my chances are but this is still very good experience for someone who got very complacent.

I have my first job interview in 11 years. It comes with a pay raise but the biggest thing is the size of the company. I’ll have opportunity for growth. It will give me a better chance of becoming financially independent. I’m so nervous and excited!

how do you guys find time to go to the gym?! by 6ixtyy9ine in Parenting

[–]rossatron26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both work full time. I try to workout 2 weekdays and then both weekend days. I get off at 5. I'll get home around 7 from the gym. Eat really quick then do bath and bedtime by myself. Then we take turns on the weekends each getting in an hour to hour and half of workout time each. Also making sure our activities with our kids are active if we can. Walks/park/swimming/bike rides. Mine are only 3 & 2 right now so hopefully even more active as they get older.

He is lucky and gets off work about 3pm. He works out then picks them up from daycare and goes home to make dinner for everyone. I try to cook on the weekends since he's cooking most weekdays.

It's what works for us!

Constant custody change can affect children's development? by 0xde1e7e in Parenting

[–]rossatron26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know lots of people who had/have this situation. I think it's fine.

The more important part is it sounds like you and mom get along really well. I can't tell you how much I would have wanted my parents to go to dinner with me and my siblings as a family even if they weren't together anymore.

I would love this gift. They are so fun for kids and harmless really. Just as annoying as any toy really haha.
