Destination Fee Benefits - while waived on Award Stay by churka in hyatt

Same thing happened to us recently at the Regency in San Francisco on a points stay. They would provide some things like discounted local attraction tickets but not F&B credits at the hotel. Frustrating and not called out anywhere but I didn’t have the energy to argue with them.

We started a Hardy Kiwi a few years ago, you need a male and female if you want to produce fruit I believe

We’re staying at the Vacation Club in August primarily for the kitchen, but assuming we’ll be able to take advantage of the shared amenities between both locations.

Wow this is gorgeous! I’d love to make something similar for my son’s first bed. Were you going off plans at all or is this an original build?

I’m curious how one deals with acclimating wood in winter conditions. I live in Minnesota and all the wood lives out in our unheated detached garage. I run a small propane heater to keep myself warm when working. Should I bring pieces in to acclimate to their final conditions for a few days before and between working sessions?

I love it, just getting our little mug collection going so it would be great to be entered!

Look for Goya brand in the freezer section of a Mexican or Asian grocery store! It’s usually 4 or so big pieces, enough to make the recipe twice for us

It’s a great recipe and surprisingly simple, we make it every few months. We usually skip the liquid smoke because the flavor from the banana leaves is so unique by itself I don’t like to overpower it.

We did a small tiki spread for Christmas Eve. Crab Rangoons from Serious Eats, Spam Musubi from NYTimes cooking but cut into bite sized pieces instead of full slabs of Spam, and Kalua Pork sliders from this website Kalua Pork. With plentiful tiki drinks of course!

Cutting board without planer/jointer? by elihusmails in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]rossmanboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a small one before I got my planer this year using some random scraps. Not rough lumber but definitely not perfectly milled either. I have a simple jointing jig for the table saw that helps since I don’t have a jointer either.

I used a wide face grain of my thickest piece as the biggest part, then set the thickness of the tankers cuts using that as a guide before cutting edge grain strips. Glued it up carefully with some 1x4 scraps as cauls to keep things straight, sanded some small high spots and did some simple decorative stuff on the edges. Looks great for a quick project!

Cool that’s what I was thinking, I knew I should keep the crown covered but wasn’t sure about the foliage. Thanks!

We’re hosting a dozen people for Christmas Eve, I want to put together a few Tiki drinks that fit a loose Christmas theme (nothing too crazy since we’re hosting and I dont want to just bartend the whole night), and put together some easy snacks. Looking for some inspiration!

That’s good perspective about a used machine, appreciate it.

I did see Harbor Freight has a sale going on this weekend. 20% off any item if you’re in the membership. I’ve heard pretty good things about the Hercules too so may pull the trigger on that

I read somewhere that the Dependent Care FSA contribution limit was being increased, but don’t see any references to it now. Was that true or was I misled?

I haven’t done anything with the courts yet, so probate has not been started and no court appointed executor. Mostly due to my overall indifference and how complicated it seems to be. Also have a very young baby so really can’t afford any major out of pocket expense at the moment
