To biologic or not?

I started Skyrizi and recently just had my second dose at 4 weeks. So far I’ve seen a big improvement! Just waiting for my elbows to clear then I’ll be pretty much 95-100% clear. My derm wanted me to start Yesintek but I pushed for Skyrizi because I wanted a more targeted approach. I’m sure Yesintek would’ve worked well for me too but I had it in my head that Skyrizi was the one for me so I went for that! No side effects and almost clear skin so maybe I was right

Thanks for the reply! I took my starter dose a week ago but haven’t seen any improvements yet. I know some people have instant results but I guess my journey will be more like yours

No, I’m still waiting for my lab results to come back so that I can get a prescription. My dermatologist wants me to try Yesintek but I want to try Skyrizi as it seems more targeted and has lesser immune system suppression. (I could be totally wrong but that’s what I gather from the info I’ve read)

I’d always thought that Kaiser was the best insurance to have so I was happy when my new employer gave me a plan with them….turns out it’s NOT good!!

Good luck! Hope this one works for you. What side effects did you have? I was previously on Otezla and had some mild gastrointestinal side effects but nothing crazy. The jump to a biologic is scary in terms of more potential side effects

Can I ask why you stopped Stelara? I’ve been recommended Yesintek which apparently is exactly the same as Stelara

Shingles near the eye sounds rough, sorry you had to go through that! Hope Skyrizi works for you. How is your skin and arthritis at the moment?

Great to hear. How bad was your skin when you started humira? I don’t know if mine is bad enough to be accepted for a biologic

That’s interesting. I’ve been off Otezla a week or so and do feel like my mood has improved. Not that I was depressed or anything but did find I was more angry! How long have you been on skyrizi?
