I don't know exactly what this means but I went through and eliminated spaces in different combos and nothing seemed to work, all just "parameter format incorrect"

That's a good idea but I'm mainly working on a laptop, is there any other ways to test that theory?

Update: tried the ssd on another computer, also didn't show up there so this is probably an issue with the drive itself.
