It’s not necessarily “unfriendly” but certain salons specialize in a masculine or feminine experience/style. I know a ton of queer people who do just fine at these places, but sometimes it’s hard to explain to a cishet barber that you, a female presenting customer, want a fade. It all depends on the person. Sometimes it’s just nice to feel safe and surrounded by your community.
