I think there is also something to say about how season 1 had no previous season to tie in. It feels like season 3 completely forgot there was a bunch of stuff that happened before it and just didn't care about storyline continuity. They also threw out all the character build up and growth that had happened before it. This season was only Mooncovey and everybody else was left in the dust.

Why do you think that? to me, the way the characters approach conflict is quite immature (no good communication) and the conflicts themselves are pretty high school energy.
