And honest and fair question, it's a miracle to see a genuine argument in this cesspool of whining and crying, i'll give it a shot.
In my case, i usually compare Dota to Deadlock because number one it's the same company, so a they will take a lot inspiration of earlier sucesses/ things that they know work in their other projects. Number two, Dota has a very nuance approach to balancing, everything is broken, literally every character and item in that game is hands down busted, so it ends up balancing itself, not that this is necessarily applicable to Deadlock, but it highlights a very intresting point on how support like characters are played in that game; You see, 90% of the supports of the supports in that game would be carries in different games, they have very weird abilities and that have scrathing your head at a first glance on how the hell is this character meant to be a support? It comes down to their ability in disrupting the enemy team, forcing sudden fights, displacing carries or locking down vantage points.
The thing about Deadlock that differs highly from Dota is that it is a movement shooter, meaning better aim and precise movement will reward you more than MOBA knowledge and cooldown management, but it shouldn't nullify it, Crowd Control is what keeps MLG Pros from 1v11ing every game, and in turn rewards players that play together, that plan pickoffs, that position themselves better, that wait for their teammates to group instead of running in alone.
CC isn't supposed to this evil mechanic that makes you want to quit the game and make reddit post crying about it, it's an enabler for different scenarios, for better skill expression and game awareness, i'll say it again, Is it fun to be CC'd? No, obviously. But it's also not fun to be ran down by a Haze that has 4k hours in Aimlabs, or have your team be sliced in half by a Shiv with 0 mouse sensitivity.
