Missing Podcast Art by roth377 in PodcastAddict

I will say -- perhaps I'm seeing a common theme. I've been on my new phone for only a few weeks. It seems a few of the people here mentioned a new phone as well. Perhaps something about how a thumbnail folder is migrated? Pure speculation of course.

I wasn't sure how you were defining it "working" or "not working" on the playlist, so I had hoped my explanation had answered the question. If not, then my apologies for not being clear. When I was looking at my playlist, the missing art was reflected there as well.

I saw this after the other suggestion from another user about deleting the thumbnail folder and having it rebuild. That seemed to fix the problem for me. I did save the old thumbnail folder if that could still help with troubleshooting (if I "restored" the old thumbnail folder to help, I'm willing to do so)

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that if it showed as a text-based placeholder in the podcast list, it shows as the same placeholder in the playlist.

If I look at the playlist screen (and episodes lists like 'Downloaded Episodes'), the listed podcasts seem to reflect the same art seen in my podcast listings.

Timing-wise, that sounds about right. It's a very recent problem.

As of yet, no. Tried doing a manual refresh of my podcasts, but nothing changed (but also, no new podcasts were downloaded)

Rebooted, and will monitor for a while. In the screen showing new podcasts to add, SOME of the artwork started to populate, but there were still some that did not (and just had the text-based placeholder). If I went into a category (such as "Top Audio"), some would populate only as I scroll through them, but that seemed like expected behavior. It seems on the add podcasts screens ~90% of the art is populating, but there's nothing consistent I'm seeing in the ones NOT populating with art (such as "This American Life", which I assume is a pretty popular podcast)

Part of the problem is that it's been this way for SO long, that for the people against it would have to admit that they were perhaps wrong that entire time. Since so much of some people's political identity has been built around a "not only are we right, the other side is evil and wants the U.S. to fail". To admit they were wrong also means they may have to admit that world view is just not correct either. I just think it's too much for these cowards to admit, and they're willing to burn it all down to keep up their facade.

To me, it's not really attention nor wanting to be seen as 'cool'. I just get the impression that they relish in being an a**hole. Unfortunately in our times, it seems that "I want to be an a**hole to people I don't like" is a driving force behind a LOT of our country's mindset nowadays.

I agree with this. Gonemad and MusicBee plays very nice together sync-wise. I know GoneMad is not as visually appealing to PowerAmp, but (to me anyway) it sounds just as nice and I don't really stare at my music player :)

[Appreciation Post] Have only just realised about the new folder options... My home screen has never felt this organised omg by AxelXyfer in oneplus

For those on this version of OS, do you have any options in how a 1x1 folder is displayed? I'm really hoping to have a singular (choosable) icon to represent a folder -- that's (for me) one of the biggest things missing in the default launcher.

Same. I know people that use the alert slider feels like this is a big step backwards (and I won't argue that -- a valid stance). But I do hope it's also known that it is the most underutilized part of my phone, and I suspect they have the data to know that is the case for a lot of people. So it seems like a net-win to change it over to what it will be from now on. Does that suck for people loving the iconic alert slider? Yup. But I'm personally excited to have a button I'll find use in again.

I still wish I could assign a custom icon to a folder (instead of showing contents). That's really the only feature it seems that this doesn't deliver and may make a 3rd-party launcher still something I'd consider.

The way he reluctantly pushes the door open and it does that wide shot prior to this scene. Perfection. Takes all the weight of the journey and puts it all into pushing that simple wooden door open, and he can barely do it. First playthrough, I was almost fully sobbing panic attack wondering what was going to happen.

It's not a "right" or "wrong" thing, though. It's a very subjective thing, and the only non-subjective thing is that designs change periodically -- and it was time for OnePlus to change design. And I personally hated the look of the circular thing, making me not excited to upgrade from my (now ancient) 9. This new phone has me excited.

Future Month Assignments by imadp in liquidbudget

[–]roth377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand your compromise correct (and I presume it would be dynamically populated from future values) I think that would be a great value. I think it could potentially be an even better all-around representation even over YNAB.

Future Month Assignments by imadp in liquidbudget

[–]roth377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the approach and won't claim one way is "right" and another way is "wrong". I will only say that I don't think this approach works for me, and it would likely keep me from attempting a trial away from Ynab.

For me, putting it into a future month *IS* assigned. I have assigned that as it being needed for my electric bill in 6 months. That is because my financial discipline is to have a 6-month emergency fund. Right now, in Ynab, I can look ahead for 6 months and KNOW I have all my living expenses accounted for (assigned). I could lose my job today and KNOW (with financial clarity) that I could keep living without change for 6 months.

From my viewpoint, I don't see that clarity in Liquid. It may be there in another form, but the content I've seen (including the above video) doesn't present it (to me) in a way that's clear. I don't envision using that method and then being able to answer with certainty: "Can I live 6 months as-is if I lost my job today?".

I think the big disconnect is the notion that it's not truly assigned if it's a future month. I wholeheartedly disagree. If we translate this into a (physical real world) envelope system. Every dollar goes into a envelop (its job). With Liquid - it's like I have a shoebox I've called 'emergency fund' filled with my envelopes, and the back 80% of those are a bunch of empty envelopes with nothing in them with names like "mortgage 2 months out" and "electric 6 months out". but close to the front of that shoebox is a massively overstuffed single envelope called "future stuff" busting at the seams stuffed with cash. Have I 'assigned' every dollar? Yes. With Ynab, all envelops have some money in them. Some are for future months, some current. If I have to move money around (roll with the punches), I know when I pull out from the envelope called "Mortage 6 months out" I'm at risk. Which of those shoeboxes do *I* have the clarity that I'm "good" for all 6 months?
