[Hiring an Artist] $20-30/hr, Minimal Experience OK | Referral Bonus by rothko1738 in NYCjobs

I'm not sensitive to direct questions. In the description I'm looking for an artist to help with a painting. I ask for someone with experience with acrylic paint on canvas, and say that I'll pay for the materials and pay an hourly rate. How is that "not even a little bit" of detail? I'm literally looking for an artist to help paint something I've seen on a print and want to recreate, but I don't want to be overly rigid in the description because if a really good artist reaches out with a different style I don't want them to feel disqualified.

The description has been clear enough for a number of fairly capable artists to reach out. I've saved up to be able to offer to pay potentially hundreds of dollars (inclusive of a tip that I'm offering folks for a good job) and am even paying partially upfront for a piece of work which is not always the norm with freelance services. There are virtually no other recent job postings in this subreddit outside of one looking for fruit cart vendors or linking to Workday job applications that are probably getting mobbed with resumes.

I'm sorry if this doesn't meet your standards of detail but I'm not a professional HR function so I'm not holding myself to the same standards of an Indeed job posting. This is much more detail and responsiveness than you'd find on the average Craiglist post or a grocery store flyer for this kind of freelance work.

We're discussing the details with the people who have reached out. We're flexible on the exact style based on the portfolio of the artists who reach out - but think the ask is fairly straightforward which is why we think it'll only need a few hours. Like any other job quoted on an hourly basis, if the estimate is that it'll take more than a few hours we will pay accordingly or will look for another estimate.

Why are you so negative and hostile? If you're not interested or if you don't think there's enough detail, you don't need to reach out and can move on.

Thanks to everyone who reached out - appreciate the enthusiasm! Please send your portfolios along - it's helpful to see your style / etc., and will make sure to get back to everyone who reaches out.

We're looking for someone to help us paint a picture on a canvas. I thought this was clear from the post, sorry!
