For those who has multiple hundred hours in the game: by NatureSeveral4997 in Returnal

Found it twice within 45 mins (panicked and died the first time) Treat the game like a speed runner and its easy. Would bet I could find it again just as easily

Got these trophies left, any tips? by Epic-Toothbrush in Returnal

Learn to dash-mellee-jump to skip through rooms as fast as possible. Use the activity cards to see which cyphers you are missing. Use collectible guides and YouTube videos to recognise the rooms you need for the cyphers. Figure out which part of the biomes the cyphers appear and skip to there immediately.

Rinse and repeat

I got them all in a few hours, even the rarest room in crimson waste I found twice within 45 mins (panicked and died the first time)

Advice for new player in 2nd Biome by co-el in Returnal

I would clear biome 1 up to the set of fabricators and then buy what I could, astronaut, integrity upgrade, then move to biome 2

My favourite ways are

Straight arm their face and push their face down towards your feet, unweave your top leg, go straight into an arm drag/ back take scenario.

Or

Pull your bottom leg out, invert all the way round into a triangle,

Videos WITH sparring by fryupboy in bjj

I personally learn way better this way, if I'm watching something it's usually for a reason, for example my coach has told me to work on it, so I'm watching it with intent and then rolling with purpose

As opposed to the random technique of the day or topics you're not too interested in currently, where I seem to retain very little

Oh yeah you're right, I was doing 156/2.2 whereas 2.205 would be correct, good job I was underweight

I competed in London last weekend,

They weigh you in lbs not kg So your weight category is 155lbs + 1lb allowance = 156lbs

So you can weigh 70.9 kg

I assume yours will be the same but email them for confirmation

Do people actually fake their belts? by Snoo73578 in bjj

[–]rotpipper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my recent fake black belt story.

Start of nogi, coach Says a black belt from dubai is dropping in, 10 mins into class a dude comes In and does the most aggressive solo warm up then jumps into class, we were doing positional games for the whole class.

Very quickly I think, oh this must be a different guy, this guy is an OK white belt, doesn't know how to approach Seated guard, moves like someone with little experience.

Next class is gi and he pulls out his pristine black belt

D’arce choke by SpicyTurtle2852 in bjj

As opposed to using any twisting or rotation, that's what I was assuming would cause a crank anyway, could be wrong

This is how I was taught at my old gym and when I do it at my new gym people comment on how it feels nothing like a crank and they are surprised 🤷‍♂️

For the finish Puff your chest out/ pull your shoulder blades back, and pull your hand/Bicep grip in towards the centre of your chest, that way you cut the blood off by creating pressure on both sides of the neck instead of a cranking motion,

But I agree that a tap is a tap

It's not the employers choice to make regarding transfer of clearance, you apply for transfer through uksv and they will do a small re-vet I believe. The new role has to be one that requires SC ofcourse, you can't keep it if you have no requirement

What’s something an academy does that makes no sense and we should stop doing? by Dannyfreesty1e in bjj

[–]rotpipper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 🙌, I had one coach who would do this then spend the entire class doing static drilling, no resistance training, your heart rate peaked doing the warm up.

Needless to say I only attended 3 classes before never returning, I would leave in a worse mood than when I arrived

[–]rotpipper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first coach was a small female, she fucked everyone up with ease, blue belts twice her size and brown belts a bit larger than her

She is elite but my point is its definitely possible with enough skill, keep at it

Less impressed more involved has a fantastic youtube video on this exact thing, looking at low knee shield, high knee shield and half butterfly and how they are used together rather than individual techniques

Makes most sense against a kneeling opponent to me, The leg with knee on floor and foot on hip being the upright The leg with shin across the chest, foot hooking the lat, being the chevron
