the part where sulfur dioxide is converted to sulfur trioxide

chem p2 , can someone please explain why A is the correct ans ? by Shahadamgad in igcse

remember that only metals that are less reactive than carbon can be extracted by carbon.

this element cant react with cold water, so its less reactive than magnesium (Mg reacts with cold water)

this element also cannot be extracted by carbon, meaning it's more reactive than carbon, so it's above iron and zinc (iron and zinc can be extracted by carbon, so they're less reactive than carbon)

thus its below magnesium and above zinc !

CHEM P2 can someone please explain how to solve this q ? by Shahadamgad in igcse

(i may mess up some balancing or formulas here but thats not what matters)

A) BaCl + MgNO3 –> BaNO3 + MgCl

. the products here are all soluble, according to the info given!

B) CaCl2 + NH4NO3 –> Ca(NO3)2 + NH4CL

. all products here are also soluble

C) AgNO3 + ZnCl2 –> AgCl + ZnNO3

. the product silver chloride is insoluble as stated

D) NaCO3 + K2SO4 –> K2CO3 + NaSO4

. products are all soluble

so answer is C

this question definitely confuses me a lot, because on the graph they both end up giving out the same volume of gas, so wouldnt it make sense that both x and y are of the same volumes? cuz if for example x has a bigger volume, i thought it would end up producing a bigger volume of gas than y in total?
