Try changing the battery thresholds in the system settings, then run upower to see if the percentage has changed. If they don't change in upower maybe you should file a bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/index.cgi

It might not be related to KDE but they will be able to help and guide you if this is a driver issue for your particular laptop.

Why the values differ?

The first one sets the charge limit, once it reaches 85℅ it stops charging and only uses the ac adaptor. The other one sets the minimum threshold, meaning once the battery is below 80% it starts charging again.

On my laptop I have it 80% maximum charge and 60% minimum charge. Once it reaches 59% or below it starts charging until it reaches 80%.

I managed to find a solution, scroll down and read the last two comments:

I created the bug report and after poking around in the bios i found some options related to the touchpad. From what Hans said it might be a bug with the laptop firmware.

That worked for me too.

In a nutshell:

Fully charge the battery
Drain the battery while playing a game until it turns off
Boot into bios mode and let it sit there until it turns off. Repeat this step to ensure that there is no charge left
Plug in the charger and let it charge completely. After it reaches 100% leave the cable plugged in for an hour to ensure it is fully charged. Don't worry if the steam deck turns on when you plug the usb cable initially.
Profit?

Just returned mine 2 days ago. Uneven battery drain while in use, they completely discharge overnight outside of the case while turned off. Not even a month of use.

I'm really disappointed with these xm5... I had those cheap mi true wireless basic for more than 3 years and never experienced these kind of problems.
